No, I'm 100% right. Berian screwed himself by getting a weak offer from NB. Nike only had to match half of what they would have paid.

Seems you're the dumbshit. Nike proved they were at the very least willing to match without any hesitation. It's reasonable to believe they would have gone higher, if not much higher. BB should have never gone to NB as they offered him a pathetic contract giving Nike an easy win.

Oops, Nike didn't make an offer to Berian after his contract ended. That is a glaring error by Nike. It means they didn't intend to sign him. They should have him an offer to stay, then matched a counteroffer.

Clayton is an 800m/1500m type and if he runs under 1:45 which I know he will, he could be in contention for both teams, so his contract would be worth a lot more
Brazier is a 400m/800m type, but Braziers is not fast enough to ever make a 400m team, and even since he's became more speed oriented, he probably won't run a very fast 1500m that's competitive with the top 1500m runners
The good thing for Brazier is, he's in such high demand because he's so young, "strike the iron while it's hot", if he goes back next year and only runs 1:45.3 at best, his contract will only be half of what companies would offer him right now
Yes Murphy has shown multiple times that hes a competitor and that's what companies look for they want people who can win, and I have never seen Murphy lose unlike Brazier. Although he is very young which is appealing.
I'd say they could both get around 250k maybe Murphy a little more becuase he could not only make a team but in more than one event.

Nike didn't fail. They got him at NB's cheap price. They matched which clearly means there's very little chance their top price wasn't higher. We know it wasn't lower otherwise they wouldn't have matched. Unlikely it was identical, so that only leaves higher.

Murphy got offered by Brooks???? Windle (the former 800m "great" out of Ohio) went to brooks for the mid 20's per year I think. I'm not sure of the cost of living in Seattle, but I imagine that's not much money to live on. That being said, Murphy is worlds ahead of Windle so I imagine he'd get at least 1.5-2x more base salary than Windle got out of college right now, but school is still important so I'd hope he would factor that in. His former Akron teammate Barber (Pole Vault) signed a contract before graduating so I wouldn't be totally surprised, especially with his international experience with worlds and NACACs, but I imagine Lebade would keep him from doing anything that big before his senior year.
I find it interesting how everyone just assumes clayton cares about school and donovan couldnt care less about it.
