Last mile was 358ish and people are bored?? The pack was 909 with 4 laps to go and it was a 1307 race.
The last 4 laps.
64ish (I had 64.4 but that was for the rabit so the other guys were 63.5-64 most likely).
61.7
59.14 (FAT)
54.00 (FAT)
3:58 is not that fast a mile race and watching the warm-up doesn't really add anything.

I completely disagree with you/agree with rojo. I don't get why people don't like tactical races? There were a bunch of guys still in it at the end and it finished quickly. Seemed pretty exciting to me.
Anyone else having problems with Sling? I was watching the meet just fine, and the app closed on me and their website is down as well.

I wouldn't mind watching races like this sometimes, but it seems that nowadays this it how it ends up always. I'd like to see something else for a change.
This. His hips finally showed up.

tactical races are lame because they are not RACING the whole way they are only racing at the end...let me ask you this, what if people ran tactical 400m? you know jog the first 200 in 30, then everyone can crush on the gas and winning times would be 50-51....would that be cool?
or an 800, run the first 600 in 1:29 as a giant pack then see who can do the fastest running start 200? its lame
women's high jump is a joke event this year
vlasic is going to win the olymics at 1.95m
SPANOVIC IN THE LONG JUMP....wearing tights though..:-/

It would be nice if the commentators focused on the race itself too instead of acting surprised at the "slow" (though not much different from most DL races) splits
collins :(

Brutal, he was well ahead.
Wow and he was leading the race over DeGrasse too

Runners' jobs are not to be entertaining, they're to win races. Being aggressive early on is a trade-off that rarely pays back when the field is so deep, at a high level.
It would have been dumb for any individual out there to run 61s from the front. It's even dumb to put yourself right behind the rabbit so your stuck leading out the last 2k from the front.
Run to win the race. No other way. If you want to set a world record, you do it when it isn't a race.

Exactly, this is something I have said many times before. A race can be fast or slow - inform the viewers of what is happening, but don't dwell on it. If it is particularly fast, you can continue to make note of it, otherwise focus on the race.
I'm also watching the meet with the volume off, so it's less relevant to me right now.

Right. DL race and only one jumper clears 1.90 m. Weather's a bit cold but otherwise it's not too bad, no rain and light winds.
oh like viren in the olympics? it would be dumb if you continued to make comments like that.
if all pro track and field was about was winning, then why are their WRs? i think you have dropped to the level of ignorance as vent, or whatever his annoying handle is now
