        True - probably nice people, but totally deluded. If they want a hero to look up to, loads of REAL ones out there - why choose him?

        Even in the UK there are many people doing more impressive things than Rob Young. You only have to look at the achievements of Jasmin Paris, for example. I don't know how many of you are familiar with fell-running in the UK, but Jasmin Paris set a very fast Bob Graham round time in 2016. The BG round is a 66 mile route in the Lake District taking in 42 Wainwright summits with around 27000 feet of ascent. She set a new ladies record of 15hr 24 which was also the 5th fastest round ever.

        She then went on to do a Ramsey round and a Paddy Buckley round (the equivalent in Scotland and Wales respectively). For the Ramsay round she set the fastest time by anyone, male or female.

        On top of all this she found the energy to do the Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc and was 6th lady. She does this all with very little fanfare and while holding down a normal job as a vet.

        When I see the female groupies fawning over RY on his Facebook page I think it's a shame they can't pick someone like Jasmin as a role model.

        Likewise for the men I am sure there are plenty to choose from, like Eoin Keith who won the Spine Race and the Northern Traverse last year and will be competing again in the Spine Race next week.

        Not so sure about that.

        Jan 14th - still shows 220 people liking

        No likes since the initial posting.

        Conclusion: those 220 likes are fake (bought).

        Some real people see things days/weeks after it's posted, so the number should grow slowly.

        Interestingly the spine had two cheats, second and third runner took big short cuts and had half an hour added to their times. No way was that a mistake as both are experienced at that race and know the way. . They were losing to the brit guy and cut the course

        Very possible seeing as he bought 10,000 likes for his page, lol
        But still a lot of those are real runners and they still support him. Just cant see why.

        I had a glance down the 'likes' and found a couple of people with whom I have 'mutual friends' (running friends of course), which alarmed me. I would have thought any real runner could see straight through the bloke.
