So I hadn't been paying attention to Young at all since he stopped running. We were focused on the Olympics and what not. Believe it or not, no one on our staff even knew there was an 'independent investigation' going on until we saw a tweet about it a few days ago.
Now I'm getting all riled up yet again.
I just read the statement from Skins and it bothers me.
Here it is:
https://www.skins.net/au/rob-young-trans-america-attempt-investigation-media-release
Check this quote out.
"“The report also contains a salutary lesson for SKINS. We placed too many expectations on one staff member and under-estimated the work involved."
And then there is is this from the CEO"s blog.
http://watercooler.skins.net/2...1475175316
"I accept the Pielke/Tucker findings that SKINS, as a company, could have managed this better by having an appropriate level of management and coordination of the run.
"This is not a reflection on the lone SKINS staffer who was present, because it is clear now that it is unfair to expect one person to perform social media duties, support crew and run management and monitoring activity alone, all whilst driving the support vehicle.
"We have learned our lesson from this and will ensure that any future attempt is staffed appropriately."
WHAT THE HELL? Why isn't the employee terminated? Do they have weird termination laws in the UK? I know companies are worried about lawsuits but anyone with a brain would conclude that it's impossible for someone driving the vehicle, whether understaffed or not, to realize that the guy supposedly running behind you wasn't running for miles and miles on end (Most assume he was of course riding in the RV the whole time).
I applaud Skins for actually paying for the report but come on. The employee at a minimum should be fired for incompetence.
If your job is to oversee a project and it goes TERRIBLY wrong, you get the axe. When you terminate him, you don't have to worry about a lawsuit as you terminate him for failing to do his job - you don't have to necessarily say he committed fraud.
Any UK lawyers on here? Comments?

I commented in my article that the first I heard of Michael referenced as an intern was in the press release - and in the report. His LinkedIn shows he's been there for 1-1/2 years.
His interview bothered me. He could not have been in the RV and not known what was going on. He looks worse now playing dumb than if he just admits that he caved to pressure and went along with Rob and Dustin's charade.
Also, a successful multi-day would do nothing to prove the legitimacy of the trans-con attempt. -
So now that I'm getting back into this. I was thinking of making another Mike Rossi type challenge.
Any suggestions?
How about $10,000 to charity if he can simply run 3 marathons in 40 hours in the same time (or faster) that he supposedly started his running career off of zero training.
4:07, 3:28, 3:19.
I don't think there is any way he could do that.
That's 9:25 pace for the 1st marathon, 7:56 for the 2nd and 7:35 for the third.
Any suggestions from ultra or Rob Young experts? -
I especially liked Appendix D, where they analyzed the different sausage preferences of Dustbin, Mr. Sphiencter, and Big Rod.
They determined an average of 5.25 inches of sausage were consumed for each 10 miles run, at an average cadence of 15 lengths per minute. Apparently plenty of assistance was given by all parties. -
I was thinking we should also make a LetsRun.com tshirt . All proceeds go to set up a fund to pay someone if they can break the transcontinental record.
Any one got an idea for the design? A slogan or something?
We should celebrate all of the frauds.
Cheaters Beware:
Litton, Rossi, Young
or maybe we just have their names
Litton, Rossi, Young
and then maybe our logo on the sleeve?
We couldn't get sued for using their names could we? -
He should make it an annual event. "Coming to a carwash near you...."

Let's face it - it would be awesome entertainment if he had another crack at the transcon.
Great times. I'm genuinely glad if he doesn't quit. -
Because the employee has pics.

Easy way to celebrate the frauds (all of them) is to create a locked thread at the top of the message board much like the Carolina runner training thread.
The fraudster thread can list all the alleged fraudsters: kip, Rossi, RY, St. Louis girl and many many more with a link to each of the threads that outed them. This way they live in infamy. -

I could be mistaken but my impression given his excellent Rossi songs that he is an individual who has posted on the Rossi thread as someone else. -

both the song writer and fake Laz need to be hired by LRC to entertain us. -

Agree with this -
People are still grasping at the possibility that he left the watch in the RV while he ran.
If it was sitting in the RV it would have picked up zero steps during the sessions. Unless you believe Rob put on the watch and removed it during the same session..multiple times..and then stopped doing so after Asher's post. -
C And so it came a cropper
G We always knew it would
F Skins needed a copper
C G And they work they did was good.
They found the source
That couldn’t be bought
Every step of the course
Was what they sought.
And the data were showing
Must be Gulliver who strode
For a human to be going
Must be that he rode.
At night it was true
That he made each leap
Was it his shoe?
Or was he asleep?
[CHORUS]
Em So many believed in him
Am And that’s what’s truly sad
Dm I guess he thought he’d get away with it
Am And that it would not go bad
Em Basking in the thrill of it
Am The accolades thrown his way
Dm Now nothing but dead flowers
G And nothing more to say
Of course as with Lance
Or the Philly DJ
They won’t change their stance
Say he ran all the way.
“He did it for charityâ€
“What did he gain?â€
You can’t ask for clarity
From one so inane
Did he diminish
The most honest folks
Who run through the finish
And don’t constantly boast
It will happen again
Of that you’ll be sure
The naiveté of men
Believe everyone’s pure
[CHORUS]
It won’t take away
From those who are true
Who never will stray
And who really do
So one final word
Another sad chapter is done
Be not deterred
From your next joyful run
[CHORUS]

Congrats to the narc who ratted this great UK athlete out. You should be real proud of yourself. -

I'm an expert in neither, but I always thought this challenge made the most sense. This claim was based on zero training .. so matching it now that he as run for years gives him zero excuses.
And no, he couldn't do this. Your money would be safe.
Oh ..and totally agree regarding letting Michael (or Dustin .. I can't keep track of who what the Skins employee) off the hook is outrageous. -

But up the offer to $100K. The ones who continue to lie deserve to be humiliated. I know in the back of your head you are a little afraid thinking "What if he did it?" .. but, just like with Rossi, Robert Young does not have the talent to run 3 marathons at these paces in 40 hours. -

Not since they have been proved to cheat, or in Rossi's case if he sued you could get to his vaporous evidence.
I like:
Litton and Rossi and Young Oh My! -
The current American 6-day record holder Joe Fejes has challenged Rob to a 3 day race with a 1000 dollar bet. You could sweeten the pot for that challenge.

Actually, if it was in the van, it would would record steps similar to what was recorded. It would not record zero steps.
I have a TomTom and have on a few occasions accidentily recorded while driving and when the data is uploaded it does record low cadences - not 0.
I am not defending RY. I think he cheated. Just wanted to respond to your misstatement.
