Any embargoes that I've been a part of have not used Twitter to advertise the embargoed information. We'd contact reporters that would be interested in the story directly and let them have a first crack at it. Advertising the report through Tucker and Pielke is a bit odd, but they did write it and can release it how they choose I suppose. It just screams of "hey, the findings are in, but instead of letting those that gathered the data and are really interested in it know the results we're going to try to get some advertising."
Maybe it means that they can't nail him with cheating fully, so they're letting some journalists write up summaries of the story to control the spin and rage? Who knows.
Yeah I have a feeling this may end with something like "He may have cheated, but the evidence is not completely conclusive. SKINS looks forward to working with Multiple Guinness Record Holder Rob Young to continue to push boundaries and will make sure his endeavors are thoroughly documented going forward".
This report better not suck. Remember, I made this,
http://ryinvestigation.blogspot.com, in a couple weeks part-time from my mom's basement (with everyone's help here of course). I were one of these profs I'd be pretty concerned for my reputation if my report couldn't even find some of the smoking guns on that site. Supposedly they had full access to his TomTom data, which I can almost guarantee did not happen though. No way RY hands that over unadulterated.
