averaging 20-22mins
37 parkrun's in 2013
10 parkrun's in 2014, before doing his first marathon, Milton Keynes on 5 May, time of 3:50:03

Great find.
Rob looks pretty fat.
Back to the amazing 1:12 solo half in the desert and the downhill excuse.
Anyone who has ever run substantially knows that downhill running for extended periods will trash your quads into oblivion. Try running the Bryce Canyon 1/2 marathon and see how that feels. Go out too fast at comparatively flat (to western areas) Boston and see how that goes. The quad damage even to the most elite ultra marathoner would be devastating to the next day's run and then some if anyone did that pace downhill for 13 miles. Never mind the pace not being at all believable. What a pile of rot.
and this is after you allow that the GPS **WATCH** was in the RV for several stretches and recorded a 3:44 mile, a 9:50 two mile, and some short blips that jump up to highway speed.
Why was the watch ever on and in the RV? That makes so little sense.... And if it was on in the RV, there should be corresponding backtracks on the watch or the spot tracker where they go back to actually run the section they were driving.
Basically their only argument boils down to, "yes all of our evidence points to Rob riding in the RV, but just ignore that and trust us, he ran the whole way."

So he was running in a kilt already in 2012. That seems to contradict some stories about the "birth" of MarathonMan.

It's worse even. Strava says 3:44, but they must do a little smoothing or something which just misses hitting the mile - the raw data as reported by software such as GoldenCheetah, rubitrack, or others shows a 1:56 mile...

It seems like all RY stories contradict themselves.

Yes, to be a good liar you need a good memory.
Why does he wear that stupid kilt? Its a scottish thing and he's not scottish. Just for attention?
It is my theory that the kilt was his first gimmick that lead to the belief that he could profit from promoting himself and making crazy claims of super human feats. it snowballed from there.

Amazing 471 pages and richW is still coming up with new stuff.

I apologise - I got it wrong - you were right
Kev, don't forget Dustin Brooks' part in this calculated cheating, Brooks and the other East Sheen Gang members have been in on this from the start. And then there's that SKINS Sphincter fella.

Actually it's not smoothing. If a Strava 'Best Effort' is faster than the world record for the corresponding distance, Strava defaults to showing the world record instead (rounded up to the next second).
How do I know? I use strava to record both my bike rides and my runs. I've uploaded bike rides as runs before (accidentally - my activities are automatically logged as runs unless I manually change it). Every time this happens, I get notifications saying, basically, "Congratulations! You have set a new 1/2 mile PR of 1:41, a new mile PR of 3:44, a new 5k PR of 12:38..." etc.
This doesn't change your main point that the GPS data actually shows a 1:56 rather than 'just' a 3:44. But the reason Strava doesn't report the 1:56 as Best Effort isn't due to smoothing, it's because Rob was 'running' faster than the world record.

It took class to own up on here, I know that you aren't reading this and I wouldn't attempt to question what you have said about private abuse you have received but I really think that you have this forum wrong. I have been coming here and reading for 10 years and at first it is a shock but eventually you learn to spot the good stuff however brutally delivered from the trolling.

Rob has a bit of a Tim Tebow type shape to himself that is more noticeable when he is pictured with other runners. I don't recall any world record distance runners being of that shape. Not the shape of somebody burning 6,000 calories doing cardio work each day.

Oh, wait a second. Kingston University, with it's Human Performance Laboratory is on his doorstep. He'd almost have to run past it on his way to Richmond Park for his 3am marathons
Nah, he lived in sheen, it'd be a real pain to get to over to Kingston, there's a complicated one way system and all sorts - mind you Roehampton is basically on the route, but they've only got a sport and exercise research centre
http://www.roehampton.ac.uk/Research-Centres/Sport-and-Exercise-Science-Research-Centre/Mind you, if both of those aren't interested in such an elite athlete, there's always St Mary's, but they only have an endurance running programme focussing on marathons
http://www.stmarys.ac.uk/epacc/(by the way, where did he run in November and February when the park is closed to pedestrians until 8am?).
I can't imagine why anyone would do it in the park anyway, it's a crazy route, when you could just do the Thames Meander, probably 20-30 minutes faster for a 3:30 marathoner with the better surfaces and no hills.
I've been away for 2 weeks in the middle of nowhere hiking and have lost track of this thread. I followed it every step up until then but it's impossible to catch up now.
Can someone summarise in a few succinct bullet points for me the key developments over the last 2 weeks.
Thanks & appreciated.
