3.6 miles in 44min vs. 4.6 miles in 48 minutes. Do the math. He got in a car and forgot to shut it off...
Good job finding that slipup.
This is 100% proof he cheated. It shows the TomTom data had 1 extra mile in it that did not appear in the Strava upload. This extra mile was covered in 2 minutes.

You know, even if deep down they didn't cheat.... that just means that they're in fact bumbling idiots when it comes to data integrity or even simple things like remembering to turn on and off their GPS watch for a WORLD RECORD.
But I think the court of public opinion is that they are all of the above.
Rob and his RV team is Benny Hill all over again. They are bumbling idiots and cheaters.
I can't get that Benny Hill theme out of my head. Remember when Hill used to slap the top that old guy's bald head? That old guy is today's Rob Young. (Benny Hill fans will know what I'm talking about). Here is the theme music:

Certainly looks like he hopped in a car, forgot to turn off watch for just a little bit which brought average pace down. So now we see the cropped activity.
Strava run ends after 46:40 total time (44:30 moving time) and is 3.5 miles.
TomTom file ends after 48:07 and is 4.6 miles.
So about 1 mile in 1:30 (if TomTom is total time) or 3:40 (if TomTom is moving time) was trimmed from the end of the file. Either way it doesn't make much sense.
Just for completeness, here is the data from the day that the Reddit girl ran with him:
RY's:
https://www.strava.com/activities/617613076
Reddit Girl's:
https://www.strava.com/activities/611109797
Reddit Girl's track starts at about the 5-mile point of RY's track, and RY's track ends where she stops and turns around.
Before she arrived, it looks like he'd been doing 15 minutes of slow walking, stopped for a break, and then her appearance inspired a mile and a half of ~8:30 pace for the poor guy (with a dip in the middle while they met Laz), after which he dropped back down to a walk, and then another break after she took pity and left.
Nothing dramatic there, but I just want to report undramatic results too, and at least it shows that RY's tracks aren't being created completely out of thin air.
And Reddit Girl's story:

I think it gives us a good enough picture of what's going on. Even if he paused every mile or less (for what?), there would be drastic slowing and ramping back up for each interval. The graph is pretty smooth.
IMO this is the smoking gun - especially since it's now been deleted:
http://imgur.com/tcB4LXF8 Sub-6 miles (including a 5:14 and a 5:32) at 7,000' in the middle of a transcon. Yehright. Even Rob knew it was telling and had to scrub it.
Dude, what I'm saying is, you cannot know his mile times based on this data. That one you link is 47 min moving 54 elapsed. So for all we know instead of 5:14 and 5:32, it took him 8-9 actual minutes each to cover each of those miles, if that's where he took the breaks.

I'll grant you that if he is doing 800s across the country with breaks, that is still ridiculous and I think he cheated, but from a data standpoint you just cannot say "this mile was covered in 5:xx" because the data source does not capture that information right now.
I suggested on his FB he change these to "Race" type so elapsed time is the metric instead
Don't forget to add all the information to the Google Doc.

That's not even the smoking-est gun. There were other, 20-to-30 mile-long tracks showing the same behavior that were initially posted, this one was just short enough to escape their notice and remain undeleted for a longer time.

Fair enough, but when he was moving, he was still running sub-6 miles. Even with rest that's pretty impressive. Especially in the context of 7000' in the middle of the night, in the middle of a transcon.
I'm back and cannot believe how this is playing out. I'll never completely catch up but the last five pages have been enough. RY is simultaneously the biggest slimeball in athletics, and the biggest idiot. Great job to all of you spending your time to expose this guy. I can't imagine the level of panic in their camp right now. The problem is that if you showed his supporters a marathon at 2:00/mile pace they would tell you to quit hating and that he is talented and nice.

Agreed. The Tracker data shows that there were breaks for some of these. The fast miles outside Williams, AZ, were also documented with tracker data:
http://www.letsrun.com/forum/post.php?board=1&reply=7380255I like the May 20 ride where some 16 miles into it he starts dropping sub-6 miles up a 6% grade. The Strava grade adjust pace puts him in the mid-4's for those efforts.
I tip my hat to the excellence.
I wonder how damned boring these ride alongs must have been? A lot of time watching speed to keep things "realistic".
Or even better Benny Hill is, Ernie [Robbie], who drove the fastest milkcart in the west.
The hapless nature of this classic really hits the mark.

No. Again, I am Fred Baker and I uploaded the data I ripped from his page before.
