Interviewer: How do you stay healthy.... ice baths, massage, ibbuprofen?
Robert Young: Pretty much being myself and having fun.
I think having fun about it is the main thing. As you see, I do some crazy fairy dancing around the course.
If you keep it as fun as possible, technically, your mind always stays focused.
It's worse than I thought. Bloody amateur this sausage eating slovenly scumbag
And in 2014 Rob was pushing to get new rules established for ultramarathon challenges. Obviously wanted more than log books, tom tom photos and 10 minutes of video per day:
Interviewer (talking about Rob's marathon streak WR attempt): "You are doing some amazing challenges above actually running the marathon. When you've not got an official marathon scheduled, I think you're running the Richmond Marathon route, is that right, off the top of my head?"
Rob: "That's it. There's lots of different records, there's a lot of different rules and for me I want to be able to break the unofficial records and reset the rules. For me I think the rules are very lax at the moment and I think we need some really solid rules across the board all the way. Not only in this country but worldwide as well, because I think the way some people do it... I mean I think we need to be able to cement it a lot stronger. And I think maybe I can help cement it a lot stronger and get some rules which will allow some stability in the marathon world in terms of records."
