I find this interesting - is it possible that RY has been spending some of his time holding onto the RV in some way whilst running? Especially on uphill sections it would allow him benefit from assistance whilst still technically running. Presumably this is why the Guiness rules say you must run in front of the vehicle at all times. So even in the unlikely event that some TomTom data emerges for these disputed sections there is still insufficient evidence that he ran them without assistance.

but we had to develop techniques for spotting RY... especially at night.
he might be on the opposite side of the road,
he might be behind the arvie, in front of the arvie, or beside it (either side)
and he was often tucked up so close that he was devilishly difficult to spot.
we thought we had caught him riding a few times at the outset,
before we figured out his patterns.
