Kev... I am man enough to tell you exactly who I am and my email address is known on the ultralist. As I am the guy who gave andy the word "flounce".
You may find me there and continue this discussion if you wish. I will talk to you in person if you wish.
But knock off the tough talk with me, sir, it is clear both of you decided to change your internet personae and it kind of isnt working. It just makes me regret being nice to you.

Yeah right, I think it's been firmly established here that you're an idiot. -

Says the man who's been doing more than his fair share of slanging, but now he's getting the rough end of the pineapple and getting beaten down he wants it to stop. -

I thought the same thing, there are few places that hate NOP/AlSal/Rupp as much as this place. -

“Well the pain of running beats getting a nail hammered through my foot. Not really anything is as painful as that.†He remembers being zipped in a suitcase and pushed down the stairs, and being hanged with a cord attached to a coat hanger.
Why is a story of child abuse 'weird'?
As a registered psychologist who works with victims of child abuse, it common for survivors of abuse to develop strong adverse reactions when placed in situations that are similar to what occurred in the abuse. For example, a child regularly locked in a closet will develop a fear of closed in spaces. However, there are many examples that are less obvious and more subtle; a certain smell can trigger a panic response in some survivors of abuse and they may not even remember at first why that smell is eliciting that response.
Therefore, what is weird/rare about that photo to me - is that a person who had suffered childhood trauma by specifically being zipped into a suitcase (a memory strong enough to mention and write about as the specific abuse they suffered) would find it funny and enjoyable to recreate that experience. It is of course possible the situation left no lasting effect on him, but then it is strange that he specifically talks about it.
Thanks for this expert insight. -

Honest question, CoachKev: When you forced Robert Young to stop after 373 miles, why did you do it and how? I'm curious because Young said he wanted to go on, and I think he said he thought he could go 400 miles. So why did you stop him? And how?
Read my blog and don't be lazy
It's rubbish, 100% self-promotion and Jesus co*kriding, no thanks -

The simpler explanation is that everything Rob Young has written or said about his childhood is completely made up. It was all just a bunch of lies to sell some books and make money from sponsorship. You don't need to be a doctor to see that.
Exactly. -

Wakes wakey USA Rob is proving you doubters wrong each and every day
I'm not in the US. I'm from the UK but living in Canada. Could not read all of this thread, far too long, but since you seem to be a very good friend of Rob, can you ask him a question for me? Ask him what it was like to ride with Eric Zabel and team Milram? You know, the professional cycling team that was made up of some Italians but mostly German riders and no British riders. The team that he said he road for.
Heads up - Team Milram only existed from 2006 to 2010 - a quick review of the list of riders for each of those years clearly shows he never road for Team Milram.
SO, why do you think he said he road for them? Your is buddy, why would he tell such an outright lie? -

I'm not bashing but a few people sure have. In my opinion the "quietly wait and see what the data shows" approach is not the way to go. If the running community allows a run like this to conclude in Times Square and get press without any scrutiny we'd let him take his glory and fame. It is just like a drug cheat taking an Olympic medal.
Diana Nyad's Cuba swim was meticulously documented. Documentation of this type of run/record should, frankly, be similar. -

Could you clarify where you have found me slanging? And I am posting using my original handle, well the one I managed to regiyster, not multiple ones. -
It took me 4 days to get caught back up on this. That's why I get for leaving town to run an actual race over the weekend.
The best post I've read was from page 196 about NOT giving up on finding more data. It's somewhere out there.
We only have one video from a car wash. The guy has run (or daned) passed tons of car washes, gas stations, fast food restaurants, banks, and dirty book stores. I looked at his route through northern Arizona/New Mexico/Colorado. In Flagstaff, where I live, he went right down our only road, passed every business on rt 66. Chevron at the corner of Milton, Barnes & Noble, Papa John's, Flagstaff Chamber of Commerce, the AMTRAK station...etc. Then he venured off onto the Rez. Cameron has gas stations, so does Tuba City, Kayenta, Farmington has a ton of crap, so does Alamosa. It might be too late to obtain security camera footage, but you could get lucky and score some extremely damning evidence.
I know that Facebook strips metadata, but those same pictures might be somewhere else still with time stamps intact. Again, could get lucky.
To me, the best evidence that he's taking rides is the fact that he deleted his old data (but someone was smart enough to copy it first). danus did the same thing when he got called out on that 202 AOR. He was tweeting updates (time stamped) of where he was and how far he had 'ran'. Then he deletes the tweets. If they were legit, then you would NEVER delete them as they'd provide some factual evidence of your extraordinary claim. dumbo forgot that the tweets were still on his Strands profile, and RY let us copy the kml file before he deleted it. They always make mistakes.
Also, I'm very familiar with a lot of his route around here. No way in hell he dropped a 35 min 10k around Williams. There's a significant uphill before town. There's even a climbing lane for semis on I-40. Then you still climb up to the Arizona Divide outside of Parks before dropping a little to Bellemont and a little more drop into Flagstaff.
The route after Flagstaff is pretty stupid. I would've just stayed on the interstate through Albuquerque. Cutting through the Rez is idiotic. US 89 isn't bad, but US 160 is stupid dangerous to run on. It's 2 lanes, 65mpm speed limit (which nobody obeys), lots of drunk drivers, almost no passing lanes, narrow shoulder, no street lights...etc. I would totally take a ride in an RV through this section...after a quick trip to the Grand Canyon. Who the hell does that? If you wanna see the canyon then take US 64 when you hit Williams. Don't double back when you hit Cameron. -

What a difference when he was doing 80 miles a day without sweating!
"he was wearing cotton socks with plenty of holes"
That's a MAJOR mistake.
Cotton socks cause terrible blisters when they're wet.
Nylon socks are the best choice for runners, especially over distance. -
Kev, your man has already been exposed as a blatant liar and cheater. If you want to keep licking his balls that's your perogative, but instead of being so butt hurt that you can't convince any of us to be part of the Jesus camp how about you GTFO and stay in your little FB corner. As you can see we don't really have much respect for groupies.
I've put up hard cash to have your man watched in this second half and already we are seeing what happens when he's "really running" - or mostly walking to be accurate. Good on him if he can grind this out and finish but don't expect anybody to have sympathy for his "cause" and believe for a second he was breezing through 70+ miles/day in the hot desert sun with enough time to visit the Grand Canyon. -
