Therefore, what is weird/rare about that photo to me - is that a person who had suffered childhood trauma by specifically being zipped into a suitcase (a memory strong enough to mention and write about as the specific abuse they suffered) would find it funny and enjoyable to recreate that experience. It is of course possible the situation left no lasting effect on him, but then it is strange that he specifically talks about it.
The simpler explanation is that everything Rob Young has written or said about his childhood is completely made up. It was all just a bunch of lies to sell some books and make money from sponsorship. You don't need to be a doctor to see that.

I just replied so I could quote the post with the link to my site. ;)
As a confirmed basement dweller, I am quite (or Quiet for you LR's) disappointed with the lack of coverage from the Indy running community.
What gives? Head on out and give us some pics, video etc. Only once in your life will you have a Brit running through your streets trying to set a world record.
He is almost half way. When he is gone, he is gone!

If they cut that stuff out of the forum and a higher percentage of threads were running-related, I'd read and post here a lot more. As it stands, I sure as hell don't want my name associated with this site, even when there is a good thread like this.
Have you seen Facebook comments on any site? It's the same everywhere. Grow some thicker skin.
Have you ever used an SBnation or Vox site? Have you ever noticed how the conversations stay on topic and trolls get immediately banned? How about Reddit, where actual interesting posts actually stand out and crappy posts get dropped? Or forums like Slowtwitch and the Ultralist, where you have to register and can therefore be held accountable for what you post?
Those aren't difficult things, and they dramatically increase the level of conversation. But LR has never taken the time to institute them.

Do we have a British version on Mike Rossi and/or his DJ buddies here?

or it could be you that needs the help, thundercvnt,,,, for your own poor outlook on life and distrust of someone you dont even know.
Ahem, the whole reason this thread has ran this long is because everyone here DISTRUSTS Rob Young. You seem to have an issue using logic rather than emotional appeal based on lies.
3/10 for the effort. You asked in one of your many paragraphs how we would "feel if an entire section of people suddenly turned on you". No one was WITH Rob to begin with. Had we heard of this self-promoting hobby jogger for any semi-important reason we would have quickly dispatched his heroic claims. Unfortunately for him, he inadvertently crossed paths with people who don't find his antics cute. Having a few brain cells is all it took to glance at his past and figure out he's a fraud. Thanks for playing through, you did get me to bite after all.

If you cant see your odd behavior, then theres no hope
I've been watching this thread grow and grow over the last few days, but this is my first comment. It looks like the original hard evidence (the security camera video) has a plausible explanation since someone appears to be running by the camera a few minutes after the RV. Now it seems the only evidence is circumstantial - the crappy GPS tracking, his fabrication/exaggeration of his running history, etc. Besides the clever and biting insults being tossed at RY and between the ultras and non-ultras, I'm not seeing a lot of new information being provided here. He's pretty likely not gonna set the record so this whole thing will be a moot point. Maybe dial it back a bit, let it play out, and know that RY will be more carefully monitored going forward. Let's see if he's the real deal or if he's another Kip Litton that disappears after he is outed.

Does SKINS do kevlar?
No, but they do Teflon and accusations against them, Robby and the team just won't stick.

That's total crap. You're utterly clueless. Report the post and it's deleted quickly IF the mods think it's inappropriate. Exceptions are in the middle of the night. Mods are different and they don't delete exactly the same posts.

No one went running by the camera.
50 miles at 5:30-6:00 pace in the midst of a 70 mile day is not circumstantial. It's impossible.

I do not know Mr. Thunder Thighs, but, I would tend to agree with his assessment. The most plausible explanation is almost always the correct one. Not always of course. But the explanation that he did not suffer the specific trauma claimed makes the most sense in this situation over a story that the experience left a deep impact on him yet he finds it fun to repeat the experience.
I should say, if you add in a history of tall tales and falsehoods, the likelihood of this story also being false increases and lends strength that most plausible explanation as the correct explanation. Still, I'm not saying it's beyond the realm of possibility, it's just seems unlikely. However, I will stick with the position that it is just very strange behaviour in the circumstances.
