Really glad some people are taking up Rob's team's continual invitation to go and run with him if they doubt him. There seem to be 18 pages of conjecture here based on very little. I'm afraid I'm another of those people who are going to tell you what a great guy Rob is. I met him first on a mountain marathon he was running early on in his year of marathons and have followed him ever since. I ran the 60 miles through the night with him to take him to 350 miles on his run without sleep, during which he was always accompanied by other runners. I handed over to someone else who did the final 25 miles. I saw someone refer to a newspaper article earlier in this thread which is all accurate apart from the 5 min mile bit (presumably a bit of journalist"s license). We got him the coffee and I have never seen anyone revived so much by anything. From really flagging he was suddenly doing 7 minute miles and I was struggling to keep up (I just had a look back at the Strava record I had, tried to paste a pic here but it won't take it) I also ran with him while he was running with a friend in a 2000 mile relay around the country, alternating one running, one on a bike. Having got to know Rob, I have no doubt he is doing what he says he is doing and hasn't arranged this whole thing to try and dupe the running world. He has the determination and ability to do this and doesn't need to fake it. He also has all the criteria for Guinness and is running it according to that so the evidence will all be there. In the meantime, go and find him, run with him, chat to him, then tell me if you think he's making it all up.
