There are plenty of updates coming from the Geezers, but you're not getting them all here, because so many of you are a$$holes.
You're probably right.
I'll just stick with the Ultra List.
Thanks.
I appreciated your updates.

I'm showing RY's tracker at 59 miles from yesterday afternoon's starting point on Cumberland Rd. east of Brownstown, to their current location just this side of Friendship Rd. and west of Martinsville. That's a total of about 18 hours, 30 minutes roughly, so about 18:49 minutes per mile, including all stops along the way.

OK then, so the border crossing into "Indian" is about 22 n'a half miles, and the amazing little town of Martinsville, home of the world's largest horseshoe, is up next.

Now it appears RY's tracker has moved on up into Martinsville, and is stopped on Main Street, bringing them up to about 60.5 miles for the "daily" miles tally since yesterday afternoon's big stop.
OK, and now we are back to the Friendship Rd intersection on Cumberland Rd west of Martinsville, after a quick driving(?) trip into downtown Martinsville and a side trip out to the Martinsville Pharmacy. So, the daily miles tally probably remains at 59 miles as I first noted above.
That's an awful lot of online tears, you gonna be ok?

I've got a TomTom, set up a Strata account a couple of days ago to see about syncing between the two. Syncing new workouts as they complete is easy, haven't had much luck trying to get older workouts to move over.
I've only tried with the mobile apps, the desktop interface may be more robust.
I go via desktop but I manually transfer to Strava afterwards as I don't like the autosynching option. The files all get stored locally on my laptop as well but in their proprietary ttbin format. I don't believe you can manually transfer ttbin files yourself to TT though you can convert them via a third party tool if you need.
I updated the spreadsheet (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1DtGrPEckX8y-2-zAFwUgzqCo4HYwUctZNOKDLbYD4Vk/edit#gid=471313666) with azimuth between two 12-minute checkins. Records are sequential by time, and for Kansas you can look for "back-tracking" by scanning through the corresponding records where azimuth is between 225 and 315 (That's a 90 degree slice that will easily get any eastward movement).
You can cross-reference these dates/locations with the team1.kml pastebin that noobrunner posted initially (http://pastebin.com/qqeK8RL1).
There's also been a long-term high-frequency update that a ulister has going based on their live data.
I locked the spreadsheet so no edits can be made.
Looks like a westward backtrack started around at Jun 5 at 12:38am Eastern and continued til at least 1:02am covering at least 12km. Looks like they went almost all the way back to the outskirts of Emporia before turning around to head east again.
from a third party. but rojo is doing lots of work on this and several pages back posted his email for people to send him information.

Interesting. Wind was at his back.

There are a few RY diamonds in the rough here on LRC but the ulist has a higher level and more coherent RY discussion not to mention better signal to noise.
Some of the nonsense here is entertaining and I have thicker skin so I'll continue to stick around and throw LRC the occasional crosspost bone to keep you all in the loop.
Do we have a list of links to legit reporting on this event? Not user generated social media or blogger type accounts?
Who assumed CCTV means a Chinese TV station not internal closed circuit TV in the van? Is there really a Chinese TV crew involved?
Has rojo contacted ESPN about their taping of Youngs trip.
Please explain the start of the event to me. I read he said he was going out for a practice run then called his team and said he started without them come get me X number of miles away. Did he want to sneak out of town without all the annoying press conferences and interviews?
Has rojo called the carwash, the barmaid or the tow truck guy? Who are these guys that are openly shadowing Young and why the subterfuge involved. Are these guys dumb enough to say we are not going to follow you we are going to hide along the way and see if you are actually running. is the Young Team stupid enough to not have him out on the road from here to NYC?
Why am I not following Centrowitz and his stress reaction rehab but looking up various tinytowns in middle America and informing myself about huge rockingchairs and the difference between the worlds biggest horseshoe and the worlds heaviest horseshoe
Martinsville, Illinois: World's Largest Horseshoe
Certified by Guinness World Records in 2013, then beaten by a slightly larger rival in Kentucky in 2015. It's still the World's Heaviest Horseshoe.

This made me spit out my coffee. I love how ridiculous this whole thing is. They get a team of guys to go down there and watch him, but they don't even watch him, instead they would rather drive ahead and wait? Priceless. When driving slowly is too much work over just sitting, you can't make this stuff up.
Sigh.... Your lack of imagination prevents you from realizing that the Laz team was obviously trying to catch RY cheating red-handed (i.e.: riding in the RV), which would have ended this whole charade instantly, mission accomplished. The Laz team appears to be trying to monitor the run part of the time, but they are smartly also giving chances for RY to cheat again, which honestly would have a better outcome than just watching RY closely all the way to NYC.
And RY would be very tempted to cheat again, if his team still wants to get that "record".

[quote]This is a rather long Facebook post but necessarily so. Please bear with me.
As many of you will already know, there have been some questions raised about Rob on this run. We assure you everything is being done in the right way out here. Due to this we have been joined by Laz, a famous figure in the Ultrarunning world and race director of the Barkley marathon, along with other top ultrarunning figures. To check that Rob is doing all he says he is.
Oops, the master media manipulator Dustin Brooks has spun a negative in to a positive, that wasn't supposed to happen.
More spin:
"To check that Rob is doing all he says he is"
Well yeah, now he is, but that's not the issue, it's the data from before Laz and the boys got there that's the issue.
This Warren Buffett quote summarizes it well: "If a cop follows you for 500 miles, you’re going to get a ticket". Rob effed up, at least a handful of times, so it's just a matter of looking through the logs. Whether intentional or not, he didn't run all the miles he should have. There are way too many holes in this story. There is just no reasonable explanation for the monster distances he was able to cover in the boiling hot desert in such a short time span.
Oops, ignore the distance and pace stuff in that for a few minutes until I can correct it. I was experimenting with trends. If you're curious (before I have a chance to correct it), consider each point is based on a 5-point neighborhood, indexed from 1 through 5, with the center point (3) being the winner of the statistics. The distance and elapsed time are calculated from point 1 to 5. Then the pace is the 60-minute pace centered on that checkpoint.
Guys,
There is no chance in hell that RY and his crew will ever release their early stage GPS data. Just go ahead and build your case that RY and his crew of fraudulent grifters faked large parts of the pre-emporia running.
However, the real story is in the grifter - In the name of charity con artist - Epic Adventurist industrial complex being exposed here. If Rojo wants a story, he should focus on all the con artists using running to line their pockets.
They are spinning a growing web of ridiculous stories. No way that crackhead stumbling down the street was Rob. You know they are lying because they wait for an allegation to play out here and then when some evidence is posted they spend a day or two coming up with an explanation that fits.

Quick question. How would you verify either of those people aren't either part of the scam or real people but rural folks struggling (barmaid? Person out stumbling in middle of night)? Who have been slipped a few bills?
All distractions. Gps with cadence from start before it had a chance to be tampered with and complete accounting of charity dollars.
