Coach Kev.
Looking at your 5k and half marathon pbs, I dare say he does seem like a good runner to you (after all, he can crank out a 19 min 5k).
Ever run with anyone who is actually quite good, ie a 30 min 10k pb?
I've got a question out to the team whether more contributions are needed. I'll get back to you here with the link if they want to open it up. There was a pretty good response on the u-list though and they may be set.
Well you have to give that team credit for something at least...it's probably pretty tedious to drive across the country non stop going 7mph. I'm sure there's a record or something in that. Heck, at least they should get a participation trophy.
Not normal to go on and on. Kev is worried. Really worried, one person doing it might be a sicko, a group of people doing it is a scam. Is doing a scam against charity legally fraud?

Asher, first that you for this. There is no questioning what you have reported.
Secondly, did anyone else break up laughing when you saw that?
Basically, we have some goofs driving cross country slowly in an RV.
If anyone from the message board does catch up to them, it will be legendary letsrun comedy gold. If you are going to find this guy, please download Periscope so you have the ability to stream live. You pull that off it may crash the board.
I am seriously considering trying to catch up to this turd. Watching his progress slowly roll closer and closer to me. Per his time schedule and 'LIVE TRACKING' (LOL), it may work into my schedule for a road trip. I also use periscope and would gladly blow up the internet in 1 fail swoop!
ROJO better get the servers ready!!!

If Cheater Mike has taught us nothing else, it is that you have to pay attention to tricky math when trying to cheat.

I can't win here, if I post nothing you all question why I'm not posting and then when I do post you say i'm going on.

Hahaha exactly. Imagine driving 50 days straight in an RV super gross with limited food at jogging pace? Sounds like a form or torture.

Yes. You can win. Get a Garmin on him and prove he is running.
All this ends when you do that.
CoachKev,
A bunch of questions have been asked and you've said you will ask Rob for the answers.
Question for you: Shouldn't you have asked these questions before getting in a 7MPH cross country van ride with someone who may or may not have been a world champion triathlete, a cyclist for a pro team and who knows what else?

You have to be like a lion stalking prey in the wild. Hide, stay low to the ground, don't announce your location and BOOM!! Bust them in the middle of the night when they least expect it.
Wonder if he was gifted the RV by Dane. Plenty of miles on it already. Perhaps Dane's team blew the engine when trying to keep with Dane he was doing those 6 minute miles at mile 170 of his solo 202. That would explain why Mr. Young's RV can only go 7 MPH across the entire country.

This is from a business on 6th ave in Emporia. That is the same road he supposedly ran down. In the video at timestamp 23:36:09, or video length 47 sec, the RV comes into view. Still no sign of a runner, although the RV is driving considerably slower than the other cars on the road (still with no hazard lights on). If Rob wants to tell us how far ahead/behind the RV he was, I will get get back with the business owner to get a video that includes that time frame.
Is this over yet, or do I have to keep going?
Kevin, can you please explain this video?
Here's the tracker data for that time period (though it's in the RV, so clearly it'll match what you see in the video).
Video is at 10:35 CT.
Tracker data for that day shows Rob's RV just started moving for the day at 10:02 CT. All times below in CT to match the video timezone.
10:02 - 10:14: 0.61mi
10:14 - 10:26: 2.10mi
10:26 - 10:38: 1.2mi *where the RV passes the store
10:38 - 10:50: 1.96mi
10:50 - 11:02: 2.01mi
It looks like that is through town, so I am guessing the 1.2 is due to a stoplight/stopsign? Either way, if that RV had a runner anywhere nearby, he should have been in that footage. Or, the guys in the RV are dicks and are driving away from their runner at a steady ~10mph and leaving him behind.

YES, I laughed hard when I saw the video. To see a lone RV driving slowly across the country to mimic the pace of a runner is absolutely hilarious.

I actually looked into that, but it looks like he has only raised 45 pounds for his main charity (4 donors), so that is not going to be substantial enough for probably anyone to spend the money to investigate and prosecute the case. It also depends whether he is keeping the money, or is legitimately giving it to the charities.
From the blog of a legitimate ultra runner who did the Race Across USA with Rob Young.
Rob Young (http://www.marathonmanuk.com/), has also made a very quirky, vibrant, and talented addition to the group. Rob began Race Across USA 8 months into a world record attempt for number of marathons run in a single year. When we began a few days ago, he’d already completed somewhere around 270 marathons in 240 days!
If that weren’t impressive enough, his pacing strategy is absolutely stunning. He’s been starting each marathon at about 5-5:30/mile pace, gradually slowing over the first half marathon, and then jog/walking the second half. He’s been so fast to our 6.5 and 13.1 mile aid stations that race staff haven’t been able to get there and set them up in time. So he frequently blows through the early stations without support, and still manages to finish with a smile on his face. He is one of the most generous people I’ve ever met and I am really cherishing his company

CoachKev, thanks for posting your blog and video, but sorry to tell you this, but you're going to be on the wrong side of history trying to support Rob on this one. Just because Rob can run long distances doesn't mean he's honest with his claims. You probably didn't know Rob has a history of lying and cheating and fabricating results and altering his persona in wikipedia. It doesn't sound like anyone really knew the extent of his deceit until this thread. The 10K PR in sub-31. Being a pro cyclist. Winning a triathlon championship. Running his first 3 marathons in 30 hours on a whim with no training and getting progressively faster. No evidence for any of this, except on his website and in his book without citation.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence, and even more so when someone has a history of making ridiculously false claims.
I saw that Kevin's blog mentioned him scooting along at 5.30 pace which is pretty good for someone who only did a 20' parkrun that year. Even in 2013 form he wouldn't last very long at all at that pace.
"Stupidly I mentioned to Rob that at Towcester the back up crew had secured pork pies and sausage rolls, he launched into a 5.30 min mile pace and I started to curse him as I couldn't run that fast for a sustained period."
