I just saw the Duke guy forget with his singlet! What is this? Meanwhile commentary about these athletes' academic prowess coming from their intense training, because that's the same as jogging which was studied by the University of Illinois, and also that helps with cancer.
I thought I heard him talking about health benefits. We are watching an elite sporting event - not a PSA.
Good advice from the guy below.

Can't they think of any other storylines besides Cheserek's?
Talk about Muphy at CU, talk about how Vargas was a DIII guy, talk about Green being 5th in XC, the Portland guy being good or whatever. Cheserek this, Cheserek that is annoying as hell.

Gabe Gonzales in 3rd? - BIG unexpected points for the HOGS.
From third in the SEC to third at NCAAs. Nice run but that wasn't a high quality field by recent standards. That being said, I wouldn't go as far as the guy below:

What an embarassing race all around.
But it wasn't much of a race.
Gutted over Germano's DNF, kid was a hero at the XC champs and had huge improvements indoors
Only a couple of these guys will be World Class. Most are hard working, blue collar dudes who (in the last 6 weeks) just doubled 5K/10K in their Conference and Regional meets not to mention a hard 10Kto get their PR and best season time earlier in this short outdoor season just to get qualified for the Region. WAY too many 10Ks plus doubles for most of these guys.
I can't blame them for hanging on when, after 3 competitive seasons, lots of racing and that kind of doubling up in the last few weeks have made most of them utter toast.
WOW! Who anchored Tennessee in the 4x400? He split 43.86!!
McBride split 45.36
Tennessee anchor splits 43.86!!!
Reid Buchanan placed 5th in his 3rd ever 10000

Is this comment necessary? They're racing at NCAA's, of course they'd want to hang on. Obviously only a few (if lucky) will become world class.
Tennessee anchor (i presume it was strother) split 43.86 coming from WAY back to nearly catch mississippi st for 3rd. That is an incredible split for anyone, but especially for an NCAA prelim.
Connor?
Donovan Brazier with a good leg

It is funny people complain about the commentary but they complain when events aren't on tv. Just be happy you can even watch it.
On another note, someone needs to take out the 5k at a pace they don't think they can do (Under 13:20) and see if they can burn out Ches. Maybe they can surprise themselves and hit a new pr and win a championship. There is no way anyone will win besides Ches if they don't push the pace even more than they may want.
You want them to go out at sub 26:40 pace? These guys don't have 13:20 5k PRs.
What you are watching is a bunch of 28:30-29 flat guys racing a 27:30 guy. No duh he wins easily.
Brazier 45.75

I'm talking about the 5K if you read the first sentence.
Who is the favorite right now for the team title on the mens side?
Really in response to all that think these runners should (if they could) run 13:20 pace to try to take Ches' legs out. How idiotic.
I'm implying that many of these guys are, at best, hanging on at 29 pace at this time of the season given their workload and talent level.
In the past, the best in the world competed in the NCAAs. Now, they go pro, not to college, so the level is inevitably lower. I'm not criticizing, just observing.
mcbride ran 45.35 on the 3rd leg in his heat, so that should be a helluva 800 on friday (and an interesting relay leg if they happen to matchup).

If you are referencing my post, I stated taking the 5k out at that pace. Like the 5k race
