Can't they think of any other storylines besides Cheserek's?
Talk about Muphy at CU, talk about how Vargas was a DIII guy, talk about Green being 5th in XC, the Portland guy being good or whatever. Cheserek this, Cheserek that is annoying as hell.

I just saw the Duke guy forget with his singlet! What is this? Meanwhile commentary about these athletes' academic prowess coming from their intense training, because that's the same as jogging which was studied by the University of Illinois, and also that helps with cancer.
It sounds as if neither has ever seen a decathlon, but what really surprised me is that they did not notice the favorite (Trimble, who they highlighted) going down with a hammy coming off of the turn in one of the 200m heats. Who doesn't notice when the favorite in lane four goes down? Then it takes them ten seconds to figure out where the favorite was at the finish line, then when they see a guy in a heap on the track it takes another 5-10 seconds to guess who he might be...
What spikes is Ches wearing?

Agree. Murphy has a pretty cool story of being under recruited. Vargas is interesting too. Buchanan of Portland was an 800 guy who was constantly injured at Kansas. He transferred to Portland and became a 5000/10000 guy
Please fire Larry Rawson. He is the worst announcer in the world. What in the hell is he talking about!?
Lawrence Kipkoech leading with other Campbell runner but still relatively weak 69-second pace. Aaand Futsum makes the break! Ches in tow, Pierce follows next.
Are you freaking kidding me. Just as Futsum takes the lead they go to a commercial.
Why do they show us the entire first five minutes, then cut away just as Futsum makes his move and Ches goes after him, with five laps to go?!?
5 laps to go, a move is made by the biggest challenger... And...
Off to commercial.
Auto-correct, "fidget," in my last post since there's no editing feature.
Commercial break, 150m of the 10k, to another commercial break.
They literally cut away the second futsum made a move with 5 laps to go. Why am I even surprised?
This commentator is talking about a scientific study about jogging improving the attention spans of grade school children. Does he realize he's commentating a national championship?
Two commercial breaks in the span of about 45 seconds in the last 3200m of a 10k...unbelievable.
The guy with the fastest time on the year takes the lead and the favorite goes with him with 2K to go and they cut to commercial? Are you kidding me ESPN?
to pay attention
Futsum 1.6 over Ches
Nice commercial break at the moment the race break happens. Lame.
...but thank goodness we saw all three heats of the decathlon 400 in their entirety.
I'm going to go down to my local track, jog a few laps, and see if it can help me pay attention to this scatterbrained broadcast
