tiernan just misses the OT qualifier again, he has been within 2-3 seconds a few times now. Also fisher with a great run for 13:30, pretty sure that puts him #2 on the US junior list behind fernandez.

Unless Murphy gets the 1500 A standard in the next 2 weeks , he'll have no choice but to run the 800 at the Trals. No chasing allowed after the Trials.
I think Murphy can feel pretty confident he can get the 1500 standard at the Trials.
I do expect him to run the 800 because it comes first, to maximize his chances. Then he can decide whether to go for the 1500, either to make the team or to double.

Mo 2.0 right there, even did that stupid celebration. Can't wait until he's gone.
Why do the "m" when there is no "m" in his name?
Cheserek won the race when Tiernan didn't move up to box in Cheserek behind McGorty with 300m to go. That hesitation kept an opening for Cheserek to go around McGorty.
I mean I get people think they just played it into Ches's hands, but they really didn't. I mean 13:25 is about as honest as a pace as you can want in an NCAA race isnt it?
meant OG qualifier for tiernan obviously. Pretty sure he was top 3 in the aussie trials so if he hits it sometime in the next few weeks he is going.

No, I said after the 10k to go sub 13:20... Lalang did it and beat Ches

both mcgorty and tiernan were nearly at their PRs, the big one who fell off was knight. You cant really as for much more from those guys.

True, but Ches clearly didn't go all out at that point. He looked to be saving some on the final curve, not to repeat his mistake from his loss to Williamsz (if I remember correctly) when he moved too early.
Im not familiar with McDonald, but the results say he's a Frosh. Does anyone know if he's a redshirt? That's an incredible time for him either way, but if he's still 19 he's very close to Germans US Jr record no?

Fisher number 3 US junior, also behind Derrick.
Great run for him and glad to see him focusing on 5000 rather than 1500. That's his future.

Yes. The whiners are kidding themselves. Ches wins because he's just better, no matter how the race plays out. Does anybody really think these guys can drop him? Come on now.
couldnt remember if derrick dipped under 13:30 or not, which is a source of great shame for me (chris if you are reading this, i apologize humbly).
mcdonald is from australia, so no AJR possible for him.

What the hell happened to Awad? I really thought he was going to do it this year. He had a meltdown at NCAAs last year but I was really impressed how he'd been a stud all year this year until tonight.
