Crisp result in the 800 that caught my attention.. Chrishuna Willaims is a U of Arkansas 400 meter runner (NCAA champion 4 x 400), but it looks like she could be a real big threat at 800m This is a big PB for her (previous was 2:00.58 at Payton Jordan). Took down Molly Ludlow.

Candace Hill, Shalonda Solomon and Bianca Knight back in the 200m after the 100m earlier.
The ESPN guy is fading, not bringing anything to the racing. Trammell still with good insight
That was a good 200m, and they just let the race happen with some "and now their on the home stretch" filler. Overhyping Hill and ignoring the actual competition in front of them
The announcer, Paul, is fine & enthusiastic & knowledgeable, and holding it all together. He also did a damn fine job at Oxy meet.
No issues with Trammel or Clark either. Of course I tend to WATCH track meets, not listen to them.

I don't even know if she broke 1 minute. Pretty awful for a "professional."

She has the nerve to tweet that her race rhythm and pattern is off!!!?? Bit c h please that may account for a couple seconds being generous. That still puts her at 60... Ouch def an attention whore, maybe needed to chew more run gum
Amen.

Paul Swangart was good. He usually is. Hazel, and Terrence were amateur at best. They worked but broadcasting is not their thing.
This show was god-awful. One of the worst track meets I have ever seen on any network. FloTrack and Runner Space have better broadcasts than this meet. I watched because I thought the ATL was supposed to be different. It was not only different but on par with a high school meet. And I don't meet a high school state meet. That would have been better than this.
All that said, track on television is a good thing. NBC, ESPN, anywhere. More is better and having this event for athletes to run in the US before the trials is a good thing.
Does the track have to have railings for it to count as official?
I was a bit put off by the lack of professionalism at the meet. Tons of dopes milling around the infield, lack of any pageantry, high school stadium, cheerleaders, and just a very laid back attitude. I liked the music, but could have been done better. Some athletes appreciated this practice like setting, but from a TV point of view, it looked like watching a HS quad meet in which you didn't know anyone, not world class athletes.
I think the laid back attitude also promoted the injuries that occurred.
But I keep telling myself that every professional league has to start somewhere, and it will only get better.
Yep. Rule 160
Yeah, it's supposed to have a railing. But in the absence of a railing, 20cm (minimum) high cones can be substituted I believe.
In the women's 800, only one of the turns was coned, and in the women's steeplechase, the cones (the shallow kind seen is soccer drills) used were only a few centimeters high!
With all the officials there, its pretty stunning to have such an oversight.

Yep, all talk. She wasn't able to break 60 seconds in her 2 heats and doesn't qualify. Can't break 60 and wants to make the Olympic team? Wow.
