So retarded. Sherone Simpson jumped from 11.4 to 10.8? She had a 10.82 in 2006 when she was the best in both 1 and 2. She was injured in 2007 then got back to near her best the year after. Stop commenting on what you know nothing about. No Jamaicans made significant jumps except SFP who had one breakthrough year and has been consistent after.
http://www.iaaf.org/athletes/jamaica/sherone-simpson-190293Bolt ran 10.03 in his first attempt at the 100m. He never practised a start or the race itself. After getting used to the race we saw what he was capable of. These rubbish comments should be deleted.
BFH was always a consistent 12.5 runner. There was a very close 100mh field and she narrowly triumphed over rivals. She could have just as easily been 4th. Try again.
2002 12.49
2003 12.45
2004 12.56
2005 12.55
2006 12.49
2007 12.71
2008 12.49
2009 12.46
2011 12.87
2012 12.51
So the theory is what? You guys are jackasses.
- No doubt BFH, had run some fast 100h times in the past, but from memory, she retired after the '07 season; she was about 35 years old and had been competing since the late 90s. 2008 and 2009 were simply amazing come back years and it wasn't just Bridgette, it was Delloreen Ennis as well. Both of these athletes were in the twilight of their careers and suddenly started having their greatest success in the their mid-30s. If it was just one or two athletes, perhaps it would not be too suspicious, but when nearly an entire national team gets hot at the same time and don't have an AD program...that's suspicious.
- I have heard this argument several times, but the truth is, Bolt's 10.03 was not his first attempt at the 100m, Bolt had been running the 100m since he was 12 years old. Albeit, he was better at the 2/4, but he had been running the 100 since he first stated in track. There is no doubt that Bolt is extremely talented, but someone would have to be crazy (-or Jamaican) not to at least be suspicious of an athlete who goes from 10.03 to 9.69 destroying the world record while celebrating the last 10 meters.
- I never said anything about Sherone Simpson's PR, I simply stated what she ran in 2007 versus what she ran in 2008. The explanation you gave for Sherone's 11.4x in 2007 to he 10.8x in 2008 is plausible, but are you prepared to explain all of the other Jamaican athletes starting with Melaine Walker's who ran 54.14 in 2007 to her 52.64 in 2008 after running rounds. And then explain why Simpson went back to being an 11x 100m sprinter once Jamaica started testing and Melaine pretty much retiring in what should have been the prime of her career.
A well known doping doctor Angel (can't recall his last), starting making multiple trips to Jamaica in 2007 and was traveling under a different name. I know for a fact that the IOC/IAAF and WADA questioned the sudden "Miracles from Heaven" success Jamaica had starting having in 2008, which is why in 2009 ,the IAAF forced Jamaica to start an AD program. Think about this, quite a few Jamaicans have been busted since 2009, why would anyone with half a brain believe Jamaicans weren't doping when there was no AD program? Jamaicans are not unique from the rest of the world. In general, when human beings have a strong incentive to cheat, the capability to cheat and have no fear of getting caught...they will cheat. That fact applies track & field and just about anything else in life.
With all of that said, I like Jamaicans and I like Jamaica, I have been there over a dozen times and I read Jamaican online media almost daily. What I don't like is the constant talk from Jamaicans that all of America's sprinters are dirty and almost rejoice when one of our athletes get busted and refuse to accept any explanation that athlete gives. Yet, you refuse to accept the fact that Jamaica has & have a doping problem and is so quick to explain away the actions of your countrymen. Jamaicans constantly refrain Gatlin is dirty because of the times he is running for his age. While the truth is, Gatlin is possibly the cleanest world class sprinter. Gatlin has been the most tested sprinter in the world for nearly 5-years. Also, in terms of his age, he is actually younger than Bridgett Foster and Delloreen Ennis was in 2008 and 2009 when they has success, in fact, Gatlin is the same age as Asafa Powell and Veronica Campbell-Brown. Yet, you never question age relative to performance when it comes to your own athletes.
