Went to watch the meet this evening, had a great time. Besides the fact that Ratcliffe ran 4:01.5 (which was about what I expected), I was very impressed with how he handled himself in a very crowded race. I think there were 17 or so men in the fast heat. His positioning wasn't fantastic but when he realized how much work he needed to do over the last 600 he really attacked. Just couldn't quite get to the line fastest enough. I was very impressed and think that in a slightly better race situation and with better positioning he could find a couple more seconds out there to dip under 4.
Definitely excited to see him take down that great Salazar state meet record on Saturday!
