Hey Derrick. Isn't it great with a forum where you can say what you really feel?

I concur that we can agree that white knight Derrick is extremely privileged.
It's good for you that we white men protect special female snowflakes like you. What should we call that? Your privilege?
We should call that BS, quite frankly.

Actually, female NCAA athletes are probably the most privileged on the planet. They get a full ride scholarship to a great school to play a non-revenue sport solely to fulfill some Title IX quota. I know women who got a scholarship in a sport (rowing) they didn't even do in HS.
Few will admit it, but it's true.

Delusions of victimhood are quite common. But it's only truly ugly when it comes from an extremely privileged overprotected white girl. Simply the most privileged being in the history of mankind.
There should be a type of social police that enforces safe spaces for everyone everywhere. Not that's a utopia I can get behind.
The message board posters on this site are NOT like other rabid pro sports fans. This site is dominated by the American Confederacy - racist, conservative, sexist Tea Partying, gun-toting while men. You can trash talk the hell out of a team or athlete, but that arch-right KKKonfederacy element is not welcome in other sports, except maybe NASCAR.
People want their cake and eat it too.
Let's pose a hypothetical. You make your social media accounts open to the world to "build your brand" and make yourself known to sponsors and fans. You often openly comment about successful workouts and races while also posting flattering, lightly clothed pictures of yourself. You offer strong opinions about demographic groups other than the one to which you belong. You openly bait certain people who you perceive to have negative opinions of yourself.
We're in a country that entitles you to do all of the above, so do whatever floats your boat. That said, should you also accept criticism that comes with choosing to be a public figure? No one is forcing you to do the things noted.
It all comes off as narcissistic and passive aggressive. Here's hoping it helps bring about a life lesson that fosters greater maturity.

what's truly ugly is being beaten by a privileged white man's fists
nah, I don't need or want your feeble protection. never have, never will
What a hilariously hysterical response to essentially nothing.
There are some genuinely mentally ill people on this forum. It's what makes the place special.
Keeps me coming back anyway. Absolutely barking.
Takes one to know one. Count yourself among the 51/50.

Right? It's hilarious that there are posters on here getting so riled up and making over the top attacks, yet somehow Sheila Reid is the immature one.
Runners are weird. It's weird that professional runners don't understand that or seem to discount it. Have they forgotten what their HS teammates were like? Welcome to the sport!
BB, Baseball, and Football players don't like critical press or fans any more than pro runners do. They don't go to the fan sites and they don't think bashing them is part of the fun. Cuz it's not fun to get bashed when the person bashing you has no idea what the f*ck they are talking about - which pretty much sums up the average letsrun poster.
"They" should be glad that someone actually cares enough to bash them. Practically every track meet that I have seen in the last 5 years has had more participants than spectators, even when meet tickets are given away for free. I work in Boulder County at a site with ~250 employees. I can guarantee you that of those 250, no one would recognize the names of the top 10 "professional" distance runners in the US.
this sport is dying as an professional job either way. iam just here for the funny forum

1 in 3 women will be raped while in college and you're arguing that they are privileged?

... Positive conversation on here is like a Unicorn. ...
If you looks around there are lots of Unicorns to be found. Lots of valuable information on this site. You just have to avoid threads like this.
What is more ironic - pro runners bashing letsrun posters for bashing them, or letsrun poster being so defensive about being bashed by pro runners for bashing them.
