Just about every guy on the planet has had these conversations. So if that's the definition of sexist/misogynistic then I guess we all are and I hope Reid knows it's not just the message boarders, but any guy she knows. From her dad to her brother to her future husband.

I'd rather be that than a white feminist broke "professional" runner with no meaningful relationship.

The fact she took the trouble to post that to Twitter shows she cares greatly about this site and what people here are saying about her. A lot of current "elites" post and view here. A number of them really want the approval of letsrun.com regulars. They know some of the older posters were very accomplished in their time and are very knowledgeable about the sport. They shouldn't worry so much about it. As previously mentioned in this and other threads, any sport attracts lots of sh*t talkers. Part of being a great athlete is the ability to ignore all that nonsense. Just perform. You can't please everyone no matter what you do, so don't worry about it. Focus on what you have to do.

Lots of truth here. I cheered for Emily Infeld when she took the bronze. Normally I would cheer for her if she medals again. But if I know she's a sensitive snowflake feminist I'd rather see her fail. (Now, I don't know whatever she is. I wouldn't dream of wasting my time on twitter.)

Moral: Best thing for any serious runner of any gender is: Shut up and run. Then most of us will cheer for you if you succeed.

What can you expect other than the absurdity of people on this site defending their gross online behavior- and defending it with further garbage.

I can also relate as the ignorant, entitled masses, who cry about how unfair I've made their life after they dine in my restaurant on Yelp, neglect to understand that on the other end is someone working their ass off to serve them. The internet has certainly corrupted people's sense of reality.

I love running. And love the pro runners who I get to cheer on. I love letsun. But not dimwitted message board posters.
