I ran the marathon, in a personal worst of 3:50. I was in shape for 3:00 and PR 2:17 when I wasn't a hobby jogger. I finished before the race was cancelled.
1. The finishing chute didn't have salt tabs, Gatorade, or potato chips. I asked for something with sodium and medical came back with a banana and a water. I ate and drank it, but threw it up as I had been drinking too much water.
2. The busses were a mess. There were shuttle busses, but they got rerouted to the course. There were no signs to the shuttle busses either, and no volunteers. When I got there, I threw up again, pretty much just water. There was a medical person there. I asked him for a salt tab, Gatorade, or potato chips. All he had was water.
3. The people that finished in 4:31-4:59 were told with about 5K to go to walk it in to be safe, and to have fewer people to bus to the finish. Then after the race, after those people got home they were told their time didn't count because they took over 4:30. wtf.
4. Yes they didn't have enough water on the highway. I even had to grab some off the table because they couldn't hand it out quick enough. I was on 3 hr pace at the time, and they tried to share a water stop for people going out and back. The rest of the marathon there were enough houses giving out water to make up for it. Shout out to the residents.
5. Sunrise was 5:13am. Wtf is the race starting at 8:00 am? Buffalo change their's from 7:00 to 6:30. Burlington should have been 7:00 to begin with, and all the 5 hr people would have been done. They sent out a stupid email saying it wasn't much cooler at 7:00 than 8:00. YOU TARDS CANCELLED THE RACE AT 11:58! APPARENTLY IT WAS COOLER AT 10:58!
6. They sent out an e-mail saying that everyone signed a waiver, so FCUK YOU if you want a discount next year. I'm not going back, but Yeezus you can't send someone you screwed over a finish time a $15 discount?
