Marion Jones was later revealed to have used EPO by the BALCO investigation. Was Saugy involved in testing her B-sample?

Is there a pamphlet I can pick up that has a list of all these really cool terms?
As a grandpa I can be just like all those little white boys trying as hard as they can to emulate really cool black dudes.
Back in the olden days there was nothing as uncool as someone trying to be cool.

Who is AJ Acosta?
Correction: Who "was" AJ Acosta.
"Is" makes sense here. Anyone outside of southern CA or who started following running in the last 4 years would have no clue who he is.
Acosta was just one of those DyeStat dweebs who never grew up. He probably is up late every night reading his old posts on the Wayback Machine.
Acosta is a letsrun fan.

I believe he works the closing shift at Starbucks which is why he's up late.
It's funny cause I don't think anyone on here actually knows anything about how doping works while they seem to claim to be experts on it. Go home and get off Acosta's outdated d^ck.

"Throwing Shade" is a gay term, originating in New York and popularized by a Ru Paul song "Don't throw me no shade, I just wanna get paid!"
Something wrong with it being gay?
He was correcting the poster who attributed it as a term used by Black people. Nothing in the post suggest otherwise. You can calm down now.

There was also a Spanish triathlete around tthe same time had an epo positive overturned

Interesting paper. Great find! Who could have known that Letsrun.com covered this in detail at the time?It looks like Martial Saugy was not alone. All 5 experts, Dr. Saugy, Prof. Schänzer, Mrs. Majer, Mrs. Schänzer and Dr. Hans Heid agreed that "the urine of Mr. Bernard Lagat did not contain any recombinant erythropoietin (rhEpo) and he therefore had not committed Epo-doping".I read the paper, and some of your "run down" confuses me.While your main conclusion of the paper looks right, some of the details look incorrect.Correct me if I'm wrong:- Contamination wasn't ruled out as a possibility: "it could be ... caused by bacterial contamination".- "28 hours at extremely high temperatures (ca. 38°-40°C) in a car" is "best as circumstances can dictate"?- The A sample was not frozen, but also refrigerated at 4°C, along with the B-Sample. It doesn't appear that the A-sample was ever frozen.- The B sample bands were not lower in the picture, but actually higher "toward the neutral side" "even further away from "normal serum" EPO and from Nesp."- So the B sample wasn't a "negative" test result, but it was judged that the B-Sample results did not confirm the A-Sample results, and re-inspection of the A-sample bands showed that the bands did not exactly match rhEpo reference bands -- the initial "positive" A-Sample result was found to be in error.Interestingly, the paper concludes that if the B-Sample had been frozen upon arrival, knowing that both samples contained disturbing enzyme activity, both samples would have wrongly yielded a "false positive". "A tragic mistake for the athlete involved."

...yes?
Thank you for the link Clerk!
I am shock that they relied on only IEF to differentiate between recombinant and endogenous EPO. As discussed in the paper, simple protein modifications can greatly alter the IEP of proteins and cause them to run differently in the gel. This can happen in urine due to the athletes specific physiology, contamination, or some other mishandling of the sample.
I would never trust IEF alone to differentiate. Absolutely correct in the paper that a mAb should be generated that recognizes the glycosylation patter of rEPO.
