No real reason to get an infection from a blood tranfusion. Blood is neutral in terms of bacteria and any ifection would be screened if done professionally and unlikely anyway. The donor would need to be have an illness and most infections don't reach the blood
As long as needles are sterile, Infections only generally happen when using semi permant venous catheter for along period of time which would only be used if you were seriously ill.
