Bolt crushed everyone but shook his head when he saw the time. He clearly wanted to run much faster.

The runner-up in this race was GITTENS. In his last 100m, Gittens raced Justin Gatlin in Shanghai. In Shanghai, Gatlin beat Gittens by .30 (9.94 to 10.24).
Bolt beat Gittens by .23 here.
Edge: Gatlin.
PS. Of course using one-off stats like that is dangerous as KOFFI ran 10.01 in his last race in Arizona. So since Bolt crushed him by .40 here, one could argue Botl's in 9.71 sahpe. -
Meh, why do we do this every year. We should have learned our lesson for good last year.
Bolt will win in Rio no matter what it takes. Don't be surprised if Gatlin doesn't even take Silver. There are a few guys that will be extremely dangerous and in the mix, and Gatlin doesn't look quite as strong so far this year.
Don't be surprised if Bromell or someone like that upsets Gatlin. -
Serious question here. Does anyone know the official attendance at the meet. The stadium looks totall packed. The stadium seats 15,000.
I love meets in Eugene but always laugh when people say track is super popular in Oregon. Doesnt Pre classic take in around 12,000. Might Ostrava actually have a bigger crowd than Pre Classic? -
yeah, a genuinely non-relevant analysis.
so as usual, a worthless post

Ashton must've had some issues come up because he dropped out of the long jump after just a couple attempts. Guessing it was an injury.

Anyone watching the M1500, Poland's Filip Sasinek for the W just missing the Oly standard in 3:36.32, but did I hear correctly that was a 10 second PR for him?! IAAF profile seems to confirm: http://www.iaaf.org/athletes/czech-republic/filip-sasinek-278190
That is an incredible improvement... wow!! He took some scalps too, in Chris O'Hare 3:36.58, Jakub Holusa 3:38.86 led early but faded hard in the last lap. Christian Soratos way back, they didn't even show his final time but it had to be over 3:40. -
In the men's 1500, Holusa went with the rabbit but then had little left over the final 300.
The race was won surprisingly by a 20-year-old Czech athlete who ran A BIG PB. Filip Sasinek, came into the year as a 3:43 guy. He ran 3:41 indoors and today missed the Olympic standard by just .12. with a 3:36.32.

54.98 for the rabbit? Not even kiprop can hold that. Why is it so hard to find decent rabbits?
Maybe Symmonds could be a pro rabbit. He'd get lots of sponsor exposure leading the race, plus it would be seen as innovative. He could even start pacing USATF outdoor nats just to fukc with usatf -
Wow....Sasinek. 3:36! That's faster than the US 20 yr old phenoms..Maton, Haney, Sareel, Fisher, etc,.
-
I predict he tests + ....once WADA & iaaf stop protecting their cash cow.

Hey genius next time you're looking at a 1500 take a look at how quickly the runners naturally run the first 100-150m......you're questioning 54.98 but you do realize that by the time they're reaching 300-400 they would be on good pace (say 56.5 level) If they passed in say 57 (which you're probably advocating) then they've already slowed down too much.... -
Race video for the 1500?
-
Bolts won't have much success this year compared to other years. His decline has slowly started last year. You can see in the race video that his legs just arent turning over the way they did when he set his world records and it doesnt look like he has the leg strength. Their is no way in hell he wins in rio. Their is notvenough time for him to improve enough. I doubt he gets top 3 at jamaican champs. It's all downhill from now on.
