I came to Eugene to train for a week I was wondering if Hayward field can be use for my workouts? I'm not using spikes just flats.

bump!
Historically no.
A damn! Thanks.
I drove there to run a mile max on the track! Bummer all the gates locked! Srew Oregon they might pump your gas in that stupid state but all hype. Shitty weather and all hype.
If you do get in, stick it to the man with the full 9mm spikes. Make some holes!
I was there 3 years ago and a guy let me in so I could run 2 laps. He thought the back gate was open but when I got around to the side, it was locked so I just jumped the little fence in the back. Turns out somebody didn't know he was still in there (with his vehicle) and locked the gate so he had to call them to let him out. I was able to go through one of the front doors since they lock from the outside but not the inside.
At the time, I thought the track was usually open at least during the day.
Go to the South Eugene High School track. It's just as nice, if not as historic, there's usually nobody there and there's a parking lot right next to it. Across the street is Amazon Trail. Convenience, great track, bark trail beats historic value.
The surface at South Eugene is pretty good but I don't think the experience of running at Hayward can be replicated at South Eugene.
It's great for a workout, as you say, with the Amazon trail right there.
Hayward's overrated AF
utilizing "af" in your comment means you are no older than 20 (at least, I hope not). this means that you really have no grasp on the historical significance of Hayward. therefor, your comments are easily disqualified. go do some good old reading.
I was there for 9 days back in 06. No problem getting on the track. I was able to walk around and take pictures. While I was there I ran in 2 of their all comer meets. First one I ran a 5000 and the next week a 1500. That was pretty cool.
If you want to get on Hayward, pick a night where you can get on with a group in town- UO Running Club, TRE Flyers, etc. If you're here in July/August, the All Comers are great- they always have an 800, 1500, and a distance race
Only if you have a Certificate of Compliance from the IAAF that you are PED free.
I went on Tuesday to South Eugene. I'm going to repeat the dose again, I have a long workout today so I don't want to get kicked out or interrupted in the middle of it lol.
Thanks guys
Just make friends with that girl Alexi Lalas or whatever her name is. The Greek girl who makes movies. She'll get you on the track.
Day after The Day in the Sun duel. AlSal drove by in sleek red sports car. I think back then you could just hop on the track.
No.
Go find one of the billion other places in Eugene to run. It's beautiful.
Her name is Alexei Sayle. Moran.

What if you are an Oregon taxpayer? Can't you use the track then?
