If he runs 1:44 by the US trials like he did last year then I think he will make the team.
He said on Twitter he is racing again soon. I'm sure we will see 1:46 then.

Tape over a temporary tatoo kind of sums up Nick's career at the moment.
Because he won the most recent US outdoor nationals?

Notice how quick Som was to sum up the situation and cut directly from lane 8 in to lane 1 to try and make up some lost ground quickly. Guess you're not going to DQ the rabbit for cuttin in early :)
Um, as a rabbit his intended result is DNF.
Amazing work by him catching up.

Sowinski punks Symmonds by 1+ seconds. WTF?
I think Sowinski is the one to worry about here. He's been racing all year and only managed a 1:47. Was he affected by the start? Nick hasn't raced in 10 months.

Please check out the homepage. We've recapped the race in great detail here:
http://www.letsrun.com/news/2016/05/diamond-league-debacle-david-rudisha-beaten-four-men-nick-symmonds-runs-148-farce-800-shanghai/The starter started the race when Rudisha wasn't ready for the start. There were HJers on the track so they asked for the starter to pull everyone up. He did but then fired off the gun..
It's called a Chinese fire drill.
Welcome to China. Why does this not surprise me?
48.21 split from when he stepped over the line
Symmonds is running again in beijing in 3 days. This is a fasyer opener for nick than last year
Symmonds is not a known runner internationally. No way. He if anything was the token white guy.
I say that as a Nick fan. If he gets to Rio that may well be his best coup yet, of many.

Wejo and other keep talking about how he only ran a 1:49 to open last year and then won the USAs
But his first race last year there was a fall that cost him time some plus the meet was rainy and eventually cancelled.
He didn't run a 1:49 all out last year. This year his first race was all out
I watched a better video of the start and it's truly ridiculous. There's a guy out in the outside lane (almost in Rudisha's) in the way and waving at the starter. There's also someone in lane 1! Outrageous.
LRC we all know what WTF stands for!
Symmonds didn't look so good - hope he can get into race shape soon
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
