Honestly, where were the idiot fan boys who said Symmonds would crack 1:46.
My God, Kipyegon was amazing. And good comeback from Obiri after maternity leave. But that was not good from Rudisha. Keep losing like this and the competition will stop respecting you.
Anyone who looked at his Sweat Profile would know that he's training like a HS'er atm. Like the guy tho, hope he pulls it through for OlyTrials.

I don't like Nick, but it was a long flight to China and Nick never races the well in May. But I suspect that Nick may be done.
2:59 first K in women's SC.
I wouldn't count out nick...last year everyone thought he was done....then he was us champ.
I wonder if Jenny Is looking at the steeple fairly seriously... The 1500 is such a tough, drugged event.
6:03 for Ruth Jebet at 2K.

Seems like everyone missed the gun, somehow. Som was standing in place along with everyone else. They pretty much walked out the first few metres, then got to running. Som was still standing there a good 2-3 seconds after the gun ... sprinted like crazy and got to the lead at 300, dropped right after 400.
There was so much confusion at the start, I was sure there would be a recall gun, but nope.

58.5, 43.5, 28.8, 14.3 in a 3:56!!?
That would be reasonable closing speed for a guy at the end of a 3:36!
Kiyeng wins 9:07.42.
Hyvin Kiyeng drops 9:07.42 in women's steeple.

Sorry for not posting more on here.
Rudisha faded the final 100m and Symmonds was last until the final 100m.

Looks like Rudisha missed the gun. Wasted at least a second standing at the start.
He was standing about a metre behind the start line when the gun went. He did go off but tentatively and paused after about 2 secs. He lost no more than 1 sec on the field, and should still have been able to win that in a 1:45 mid race.
It does show that while the most consistent time trialler in 800 history, he does have a weakness, which has been seen several times now, in that he doesn't have a great (quick) change in pace, which makes him vulnerable in middle (1:45 - 1:47) timed races.
He's not the complete racer in that respect, and it explains why he always has a pacemaker taking it out fast, and why he has to go out in front fast in championship finals.
The rest of the world's elite 2 lap runners will have been given some hope with this performance. No wonder he looked pi**ed at the end.
