The question was why is Pappas crucified, but Fedronic is not. The reason is that Pappas has a ton of detractors. This is because while Fedronic and Pappas are both basically non-notable on the world stage, only Pappas gets media coverage that is far beyond her actual ability. This makes no judgment about whether country switching is good or bad, just that Pappas in unliked by some, and this is something to criticize her for.
No different than:
Twitter followers and tweets:
Lolo Jones 415K, 13.2K
Dawn Harper-Nelson 10.8K, 3166
Brianna Rollins 10.2K, 10.6K
Anytime that a worse athlete gets substantially more press than more accomplished athletes, their behavior is under a microscope by fans who are offended by that situation. There will always be people eager to criticize Pappas and Lolo Jones for even the most minor transgression. Since there was a thread criticizing how Pappas cheered for Hasay at a meet, of course there is going to be a thread criticizing her for nation swapping.
It's funny how the people on here constantly berate someone like Lauren Fleshman but give someone like Merber a free pass, someone who tries way too hard and is constantly tweeting/being on social media (and has accomplished very little in comparison to Fleshman).

Kyle "Crossfitter" Merber does not get a free pass on here. He himself writes all the pro-Merber posts.

So was Frank Shorter.
also, the French standards to make teams are harder. for instance I believe last year the world champs 800 qualifying time was 2:01 and the French team required you to run 1:59 to be apart of the team. also, the French actually have other people who run in these events. I'm pretty sure pappas could win the Greek trials in an event above 800 meters. I very much agree with the point of her taking all the usa only money at road races and then not representing the usa at the olmypics is not a very classy thing to do. seems like she just takes advantage of everyone and everything. which makes sense because she seems very self centered
Because justine fredonic would not get criticized for running for Greece because she runs for France

It's completely different. Justine lived a quarter of her life in France, 6 years, before before moving to the US. Pappas was born and raised in the US and never lived in Greece. I doubt she can speak Greek.
And yes, Justine speaks fluent French, again, because she lived there for a quarter of her life.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79yGemVN6dcI don't believe Justine has ever been a us citizen. I seem to recall reading somewhere that she's a green card holder (permanent us resident) but a French national
Alexi, on the other hand, has always been a us citizen
If you ain't got haters, you ain't poppin. Don't be mad at me cuz you not poppin. I hear people talkin (trash) cuz they ain't got shit. Monty explains this better in his song, entitled "Not Poppin."

A "quarter of her life" is misleading. No normal person is fluent at 6 years of age nor have they done anything, acted, or participated as a patriotic person of their country at 6 years of age. She likely learned French because one of her parents spoke it to her for her WHOLE life not just because she lived in France at some point.
Someone else on here said she was born in Germany. So doesn't that mean less than 6 years in France?
I really don't understand how this is even a thread. When is the last time Usain Bolt got some attention on this site?

Nobody in your family was fluent in English, i.e., could speak the language, by the time they were 6? How stupid are you people????? You think it's abnormal to be able to speak by the age of 6! How old before you could start school in your family? Wow. You truly are an idiot.
20 years from now, noone will ever remember who these 2 girls are. So everybody chill. /thread

I'm confused. Isn't it a given that she can't compete at US Championships or for US prize money if she's representing another country? Is this even in question? Even if you have dual citizenship, you still can only race for one country at a time.
To hell with Frisco runners.
Lol. We have people complaining about these inconsequential ladies while Bernie takes US Olympic spots.
