I think this is likely the issue. Seems like they're running a super low mileage program for him at A&M. It makes sense that if they dropped his mileage once he got there and just hammered speed that he would peak in early indoors and then start to decline as his aerobic strength atrophied.
Then again, maybe he's just coming off an injury but 1:51 is a long ways away from where he was 4-5 months ago.
