OK Wejo admit it: did you take an extended break and gain 20 lbs after your 28:06? Is that where this whole middle aged women workout came from?

How did you manage to handle the stench of the hot yoga room?
Exactly. The first time I did hot yoga several years ago, I had an instructor who had one of the worst body order, I almost passed out. And yet all these ladies thought he was hot...🙄...😷
Wejo-- try a regular vinyasa class with a good teacher. The teacher makes all the difference. Hot yoga is a fad and can over stretch your muscles and you can end up injuring yourself. Also, you get a better workout in a level 2-3 vinyasa room temp class because your body has to work harder to heat itself. Heat just tricks you to make you think you're working harder when in fact you can barely move. "Getting rid of toxins" is not a real thing.

Hot yoga is a gimmick. Regular yoga is a better workout.

You're not far off.
I got divorced at the end of 2014. Got married at the end of 2009.
2009 doesn't even seem that long ago to me. Shows I'm not a spring chicken anymore.
Saw I sign for this today on my way to yoga:
http://www.corepoweryoga.com/I may try that next.
From my limited time in yoga, I realize my hamstrings are super tight and I have no butt/glutes. I already feel stronger and more flexible with a better core.
Curious if you posted under another handle during that time about your failing marriage / divorce issues -- seeking advice?

Have you tried Pilates? I like it much better than yoga.
Pilates is like how hot yoga used to be. I have no idea what Pilates is.
I have no idea why they need to heat the room. From what i can tell to sweat out toxins. The heat makes it more of a workout
Mine is like 90 degrees. Some supposedly are hotter. I think of myself as a fit individual and am surprised they heat it over 100 as I figure the average person could get in some serious trouble.
True that. As a senior citizen now I was taking yoga classes 2 or 3 times a week with a British/Indian instructor who made it challenging, but I was feeling great, as they really work. After years of sitting at a terminal all day they got the kinks out. Then, on vacation, I was at a place that offered hot yoga... took a class, really tough, but felt Ok after an hour or so, Came back a few days later, and some new young chick instructor decided 80 degrees not enough and cranked the thermostat up to over 90. I had a pool of water on my mat as the room started to spin within 15 minutes. Had to leave so I didn't embarrass myself. Heart was pounding and I saw stars. Don't know what the point of her doing that was (maybe just to get rid of me as I was the only guy there).

So far so good, seems great for my core and flexibility.
You know what else is good for core?
450 lbs raw SQUAT.
Another advantage of the squat over the hot yoga is that you wouldn't have to give up your "man card".

What does the raw refer to in this?
Try the Bar Method if you have one in your area. Hardest workout I've ever done. You'll be the only dude surrounded by some great tail.
I thought of this today. It's 90 degrees in the room, yet all the women are wearing long yoga pants. Got to be way more uncomfortable for them.
I may try regular yoga after my initial month.
I saw this place a few doors down. Looks like a decent workout and up my alley.

WeJo how has this been going for you? Heard Joe Rogan talking about the hot yoga so I'm interested; he said " it puts everything together"
Also I like the idea of ignoring all the women in the class until they come to me.

I took two hot yoga classes, was only male and the scenery was great, (love yoga outfits) , BUT, first time struggled through and it was 80, but felt fantastic much later, second time, it was brutal, lasted 20 minutes, went out, then back in and, seriously, almost passed out. I left a lake of sweat behind on my mat and then found out it was over 90 at the request of teacher. Never again.
