You're kind of a d0uche, maybe clowns like you should just stay out threads in general
I was thinking the same thing. Dude has a lot to offer to the discussion but then he adds that last sentence and totally blows his credibility.[/quote]
I'll triple the douche sentiment. And not impressed with the arguments, either. OP may have been as "slow" as 16:59 5K. Consistent good mileage and good quality with NO collateral activities OR diet concerns other than weight gain can get him much lower. Whether one only follows the local running scene or knows some elite running history, you'll know that a) lots of nobodys who ran 15-something with no "sophistication" either/or b) world class folks who had no sophistication (AND who had legendarily "bad" diets - see Bill Rodgers....kinda doubt he worked on his core much, either!).
Former D1 bought into not only his own superiority, but a pseudo-sophisticated "sports science" culture that makes un-scientifically-supported claims about all of those collateral activities and diet. And he ends up looking like a douche AND makes bad arguments. And thinks that his probably higher-than-average talent somehow inoculates him against doing so.
