Martin Hehir is Euro-American actually.

Interesting. Was he born and went through childhood there?

i'm 100% certain that Chelanga has gone through the REAL process of citizenship and is a REAL American. Hopefully he runs for the USA in RIO 2016
You can't hide how you feel in what you said. Please leave it off the internet or leave this earth.
Should have just clarified american born and then there wouldn't be an issue.

Conditions were not good for great times today. It was a race and that is what matters.
Yeah, there were sustained winds of 20+ mph, but gusts of up to 40 mph according to measurements at the airport. It was really nasty in some parts, especially the last couple miles. The whole field ran significantly slower than last year as a result.
Don't compare times to last year. Last year's race was short by more than a 1/2 mile. An hour before the race started in 2015, there was a serious accident where a cyclist (I believe) was killed on the course and the US Park Police needed to investigate the accident. They had to reroute the race and the rerouting made the race over a 1/2 mile short.
But still, the times were slower than previous years.

I would say how I feel about your a*shole comment, but the moderators would delete it for profane language. You know nothing about anything fool.
Here's what you butt-hurt PC police miss:
When people point out that Sam Chelanga was born in Kenya, they aren't dissing HIM, or other Kenyan born athletes. What gets me is that the US congratulates itself by importing foreign runners, giving them citizenship (nothing wrong with that) but then saying "hey, look how great the US distance running scene is!". The sole means by which the US can be decent at distance running is by importing African runners - Meb, Lagat, etc. People who point this out are not racist - they are knocking the total delusion of the US running establishment, not African runners.

lmao you're equally a moron for missing the point as well. A lot of "PC police" wouldn't argue with what you're saying. the OP made an idiotic statement about Chelanga not being a "REAL" American and people were calling him out for that
Why do people scream PC when someone stands up for someone else and tries to be a decent human being?
The wind was insanely brutal yesterday - as anyone in the mid-Atlantic region observed. No one was getting PRs on the NE coast yesterday unless they ran point-to-point with the wind at their back.
6/10
The only purpose of this thread was to bait people into bickering about whether Sam Chelanga is a real American. The OP's handle was a little too obvious though.
I always find it interesting that Americans by choice could ever be viewed negatively by Americans by the accident of birth whose ancestors were Americans by choice: how could anyone not see that the 'real' Americans are those that come to the USA
I ran and didn't think the wind was that bad. Definitely not good for fast times, but brutal is an overstatement.
i kind of like this line of thinking

Yeah, I'm familiar with the incident last year. Sorry I phrased that poorly. My point was that the winning time was still significantly slower than 2014 and 2013, due in large part to the windy conditions.

I find it interesting that you think anyone is saying anything negative about Chelanga here. They're just making a distinction between "real" Americans and naturalized americans. It's not negative or positive.

oh please. don't be coy. the only people bringing up whether or not he's a "real" American are absolutely doing it with a negative tone

The Naturalization Act of 1790
Perhaps the Framers came to some belated realization that they needed to speak more clearly concerning race and the law. The Naturalization Act of 1790, setting out who may become a citizen of the new American nation, states explicitly,
That any alien, being a free White person, who shall have resided within the limits and under the jurisdiction of the United States, for the term of two years, may be admitted to become a citizen thereof…
You cannot get any clearer than that!
The United States of America was founded as a country of White people, by White people and for future generations of White children.
Anyone who says otherwise is either ignorant or a liar.
Euro-Americans go back to Europe

Using the word 'real' makes it an insult. Implying that Sam is a 'false' American.
What makes me laugh is your country was built on immigration. You know the Native Americans did not establish the USA. Your whole American history is full of European colonization starting from the 1500s (so relatively recently), surely you know how North America was split between the English, French and Spanish? Your languages are European, your religion was brought to you by Europeans, your culture is heavily based upon Western European cultures. When the USA was established it was by English speaking colonists who didn't like how they were being treated by London. Felt their 'rights as Englishmen' were being violated. America by definition is a melting pot for other cultures through immigration, I do not see how you can be negative towards those that choose to emmigrate today to seek out the American dream.
