Wash Post is reporting he is doing it for training and will be running with the 6 min per mile group. Would be fun to run with him! He said he is going to encourage amateurs during the race. He's a class act.

The sport needs more athletes like Meb. Great ambassador for the sport!
Nice self-promotion
Will Ryan Hall handle the 8 minute pace group?

DNF @ 8:00, maybe 9:00.
With the wind expected, 6 min pace when it's in your face will feel like 5 min/mile effort.
So funny! He can go ahead and handle the "8 minute retired olympian group" and you can handle the "8 minute never did anything" group!

Moron.
Ryan Hall has seen the light. You may argue that GOD showed him the way towards a better, more BUFF and SHREDDED PHYSIQUE.
A PHYSIQUE that Sarah actually appreciates and doesn't have to make jokes about behind his back.
But yeah, you keep on running and remain SCRAWNY/SKINNY.
I did some reps with 300 pounds today, and did 80 yards sprint repeats wearing a 200 pound backpack. I'm plenty shredded, bro.

I'm consistently amazed at how people on this forum see these as "class acts." He has no actual interest in running with you - despite the utility that he claims to derive in his day-prior twitter posts. He is there because he is paid to be there. It's self-promotion!

Sound like you've never had a run or conversation with Meb. Don't let ignorance hurt a mindless argument, though.

I think we just found the hobby jogger who has a selfie with Mo as his computer background.
I ran with meb for a couple miles this morning. It was a nice experience. It's a good marketing tactic. I am surprised more elites don't do it.I think they are too neurotic to change their intended buildups. Meb does not need to worry so much because he is in the twilight of such a good career.
Class act, marketing ploy-- call it what you want, if marketing makes people do nice things, who cares?

A job for me and Meb would be a tempo for you. If you could hang at all.
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
