I was about to say the same thing.
German with a 28:06 for 5th. Looked great until 450 to go when he came off the leaders.
27:57ish for Korir, German back at 28:06, fable around 28 flat
GF 28:06 for 5th place
dunno who won, but 27:58 is the time
hoping it was Scott Fauble
HS German Fernandez could have run 28:06
Korrir won in 27:58
Kipchirchir 27:58
Fauble 28:00
German 28:06

Excellent time! Is that German's debut 10,000m? Even if it isn't that is an outstanding time for someone new to the event.
Fauble misses the Olympic standard by 43/100 of a second!!!
AAARRRGGGHHH!!!
Now he'll have to place to place top three in the Trails AND run sub 28:00.
Damn. SO close.
He didn't even get the Olympic standard

10K debut on the track. Great time considering all he's been through. Shame he was only 6 seconds off the olympic standard

I think for his first race in April of an Olympic year, that's a pretty damn good showing. You have to assume he was not near peak fitness and this was just a rust buster. I'm excited to watch the Olympic trials!!
isn't the standard 28:15?
Now the question is when is his next 10k?
