Of course this isn't an April Fools gag, but it's still curious that he's not on the start list.

You guys who think it might be an April Fools joke realize how f*cking stupid that would be? Like what exactly would the joke be? A runner said he was doing a race that he actually wasn't doing? Wow he sure got us!
NEVER FORGET THE BOWERMAN 5K FIASCO!!!!
Heat sheets due to be posted late Wednesday (30th).
We'll see then . . .
Maybe he got himself confused with Bryan Fernandez. It's an honest mistake.
Hey, Dick Pole. He broke the AR in his first 10k...seems like a calculated move to me.
Contracts are about selling shoes and equipment. There's no other reason to do it for Nike or any other shoe company.
People still talk about German all the time even though he has not run a solid race is over a year (or two). He'll lose his contract when people stop caring...which might be after this year if he gets injured again and/or does not have a good result.
It he pops a sub 13:20 or another 3:35, then he'll get a few more years, IMO.
The potential for him to be a big money maker is still there, but it becomes less and less with each injury.
BTW: Stanford 10K is not a premier event for an elite. I'm sure this is just a rust buster. He'll run in the pack and pick it up in the last 2-3K if he feels good. I would not expect anything too fast.

You're both ridiculous. The number is clearly 28:32.77, of course!
This is getting crazy no way he runs faster then 28:32.78
Hopefully the injury bug is behind him and he runs a good race.
Maybe he and his former OSU teammate Kipchirchir, 27:36 PR, can work together and get under 28:00 for A standard.
He'll either DNS or DNF.

Dunno. I could see 28:32.775 - 28:32.777, something in that range.
How are they going to fit 72 guys on the track? There's going to be a lot of pushing and shoving. It'll be hard to navigate through all the lapped runners
I hope you're joking. 2 sections, as usual.
Did he get his Stanford meets messed up? I see high 28:40s with this field. Peyton Jordan will have 27:30 runners.

You guys are a great example of why there is a stereotype that runners have poor social skills.

It's an Olympic year, my opinion after following this sport for 45 years, German's coach is not going to waste a 10k effort unless they feel he can get the A standard. Payton Jordan my be to close to trails. Especially after his injury history.
If he does run I expect there to be pacers to help him get the A standard.
He's been a disappointment. 29 flat

Not many trails around there.

You got me on the spelling, but there are many trails around there.
Man I hope German is healthy. That's all I hope for first. Hope he is feeling good over the entire body, hope its all coming together for him. German is one guy I believe we would all be psyched for, if he made it to the worlds big dances. Take care German!
