No, not everyone, The percentage is much better, but I have posted mile times before, and usually someone will ask if that is a real mile time or a 1600m.
I used "full mile" in the title just to try to be absolutely clear, but I am amazed that somehow people find that one extra word can cause so much distress they have to comment on it, rather than just read over it.
I thought if this was a place for serious runners, this thread would generate comments like "Is that the fastest 11th place time EVER in a high school meet?" Or maybe for a race where all the competitors are from one state? But none of that, but quite a bit a nit-picking about the thread title. "Full mile"? "Boys" ?. Does the title really interfere with your understanding? The important thing was the race, not the thread title.
Sorry, but if I make a similar post again, I will use "full mile". I don't think it is incorrect. Apologies in advance.
Here's hoping for more discussion about great running achievements, and less about the details of the subject title.
