Let me know the next time you knacker yourself for an hour in the rain against the best in the world.
Thanks.
this race had about half a minute of rain. Where you watching something else?
Let us help the blind...
That's 55 seconds right there. So now 57:11!

Analyzing from the footage, that cap weighed about 25 pounds.

Get your phone.
Go to the Google Play store or Apple store.
Get the NBC Sports app.
Press play.
You're depriving some village of their idiot.
I don't have a cell phone, and I'm not interested in your village.
Ah.......You're a settler. At least you have your foot stomp!

The wind favored the more robust Kamworor, as long as he could stave of any drafters. He ran the perfect strategy and tactics for the day.
It will be much closer between these three in Rio. Wouldn't be surprised to see Karoki steal gold there.

or a ruminant ?

eh ??
the huger surface area slows him less ???
as long as he could stave of any drafters
what choice did he have considering most all elite were stick-insects incapable of offering any drafting !?
He ran the perfect strategy and tactics for the day
eh ???!!!
tripped flat onto his face for many seconds, then running suicidally, weaving around numerous sub-elites to catch the pack by ~ 3'00 was "perfection" ???
It will be much closer between these three in Rio
only if top 2 can't force 3rd stringer on team to run 26'20 pace from gun to 8k
Wouldn't be surprised to see Karoki steal gold there
didn't happen today even with catastrophic advantage handed to him at start
Krokey was in likely "lisbon" shape of
~ 58-flat
he got crashed...
Shoot equal-diameter ping-pong ball and golf ball into a 30MPH wind and get back to me when you figure out which went further.
The rest of your sputtering s will be left to flutter in said wind....

Wrong, Vent. I agree that larger surface area into the wind works against him (a function of 2 dimensions), but the additional weight (function of 3 dimensions) would work to his advantage, to more than offset than disadvantage
eh ???
clueless
what are relative masses of those balls compared to guys who ran today ???
How good is Kamworor in the Half Marathon? Here is his progression -
HALF MARATHON VIEW GRAPH
PERFORMANCE PLACE DATE
2016 59:10 Cardiff 26 MAR
2014 59:07 New Delhi 23 NOV
2013 58:54 Ras Al Khaimah 15 FEB
2012 59:26 Den Haag 11 MAR
2011 59:31 New Delhi 27 NOV

TFD was correct: Assuming equal density of both runners, Kamworor's larger mass would more than offset his larger frontal surface area, requiring him less energy to fight the wind. Any physics majors out there to back me up on this???
Not a physics major, but mass would be increasing at an exponential rate of being cubed compared to area which increases only at a rate of being squared as an object is proportionally enlarged. Makes sense to me that the bigger the guy, the less the wind will hinder him.

Hold a golf ball and a ping pong ball in the wind. What happens?
Yeah but a golf ball has much more density than a ping-pong ball. But the example posted above better explains it.

nonsense
you have no clue

utter drivel
the needed energy output required to propel that mass is cubic function which trumps area
to more than offset than disadvantage
utter drivel
it is handicap :

look up wiki :
"drag"
Consider this.... wrote:TFD was correct: Assuming equal density of both runners, Kamworor's larger mass would more than offset his larger frontal surface area, requiring him less energy to fight the wind. Any physics majors out there to back me up on this???
utter nonsense
it's a power output consideration to overcome the limiting drag which is a
v^3
you don't need a physics major
you need a paddle to even consider getting to the dinghy which you can dream to get to that canoe before you can even genie-3-wishes-in-1, a boat, let alone
"need bigger boat"
Think of it this way (for dramatization), V3...A 50 lb boy will more easily be blown off his feet by a strong wind than will a 200 lb man. Likewise, it will be more difficult for the smaller man to advance in a forward direction than the larger man.
Farah is not 100% right now. The Kenyans have been focusing on this event, and it means quite a lot to them, not that one belittles the Kenyans and their performances. They took it from the gun.
One interesting thing struck me during the race, the number of 'taller elites' coming through in distance running now. While most world records in distance events are held by shorter people, around 1.70 or lower in height, there are many elite distance guys from Kenya and Ethiopia now who are around 1.80 or taller and this is surprising, as taller means more weight and less efficiency in the power to weight ratio department.
This morning watched the Donguan Marathon, in Guandong, China, won in 2:11 by a Kenyan, with another 20 other Africans in tow. First Chinese male finished in 2hrs36minutes.
The difference between the depth in China (poor depth) versus Japan (incredible depth in distance running, especially on the roads) is mind boggling. Most 'marathon runners' in China are merely fun runners who are more concerned with taking 'selfies' of themselves during races and posting them on social media outlets like WeChat.
