nick ran 47-low in mid-'12 in dublin on cold windy day & it was an inner lane - i saw race on flotrack & very impressive & with standing start !
it was fantastic effort considering conditions
he said himself that in london he was significantly quicker for 400, meaning definitely in 46+ shape
it is nonsense that people think nick has poor 400 speed
they are fooled by his racing tactics where he likes to stay at back & kick hard at the end
these tactics are not from necessity of poor 400 speed but purely thru choice
for some reason he thinks his best tactic is to hang around at the back & pick people off on 2nd lap
it is foolish tactic seeing as even though he ran 1'42.9pb in london, he wasn't seeing a 1'40+ guy coming back to him
nick's 400 speed in games was as good as anyone not called Rudy or nijel
