There are a few levels of decisions going into it. Meet organizers, broadcast directors, and the network people.
The scheduling has been fine. The NBC people are making the bad decisions. Eurosport coverage has been uninterrupted and fine.
Follow up post. Eurosport is on its second commercial break in the hour. They're not showing the athlete interviews that NBC is, but we're getting better coverage of the field events (probably).

400m is off. Adekoya cross the break second behind Hayes, but gunned for the pole before the curve. Hayes coming around. with 50m to go.
But its not enough! Spencer takes an inside line on Hayes to get Silver and shut the door on Mcpherson. 511.45
Looks like WADA still has some work to do. My goodness that 400 chick was jacked. Shouldn't they make the doping a little less obvious?
HJ bar is at 2.25. Kinard has a lot of crowd support, and clears easily.
Announcer is saying that he had to adjust his takeoff for the surface of this stadium. He moved back 7 feet!
Protsenko is struggling. Missing 2.25m twice.

Totally.
I wanted to bring this up about Powell thread of him "going back on the sauce" and his fast qualifier yesterday. Why wouldn't he? He didn't get caught for high octane stuff, just a stimulant, which he probably didn't take with intent. He beat the tests with whatever he was doing before, and could be confident he could continue to beat the tests. Anyway...
Protsenko makes it over 2.25 on his last chance.

I'd love to see the interviews, but the field coverage has been great for a change.

I don't think either country has a WADA compliant NADO. Some athletes know they can dope all off season, they just have to be clean by race time. It's easy to beat the tests when you aren't being tested at all until the World Championships.
400m men on the line
1 349 Lalonde Gordon TTO TTO 45.51 45.17
2 269 Boniface Ontuga Mweresa KEN KEN 46.33 46.33
3 321 Abdalelah Haroun QAT QAT 45.71 45.39
4 350 Deon Lendore TTO TTO 45.56 45.03
5 171 Pavel Maslák CZE CZE 45.71 45.24
6 233 Bralon Taplin GRN GRN 45.20 45.20
If you haven't been paying attention, Kenya has an athlete in the final. USA doesn't
Nice cascade from the break, Tiplan 6th lane takes the pole, Maslak in the 5th lane slots in behind, Lendore slots from the 4th lane into third Out HARD
Taplan rigs HARDER. Maslak just holds his compsure, doesn't need to do much to get around. Haroun gets around Lendore for 3rd.

How high is that in ft and inches?
Speaking of doping, the 60m Women's finalists are getting warmed up. The final isn't listed on the timetable, and I'm not sure if its before or after the 1500m.
Kynard gets over 2.30. 7 foot 6.5 inches.
Don't play the "Americans won't care until things are feet and inches." You don't even need to know the height to enjoy the competition. You know the pressure is on, and can see who makes it and who hasn't. Its simple, you clear the height you move on. Nothing to do with feet or meters.
