How excited are you to tell us? Would you describe your excitement as "palpable?"
No idea but where did you find a 3 mile race:
'a couple weeks before running a 15:38 3 mile'

He's probably in highschool and runs in one of the few states that don't race 5k in XC, like IL.
I am guessing your mile is 5,280 feet long
4:30 with good weather
if you'd have hit those last couple 150s in about 20 i'd have guessed faster.
I would actually guess closer to 5300 because he is going to run in the swag lane. (#2)
4:37
4:41 1600m, 2:06 800m give or take 1 to 2 seconds due to head wind.
4:28
4:24
5:35/M for almost 8M
5:13 avg for 3M race--probably xc and with hills
68-9/400m for 600s
You have good endurance and usually mile pace is closer to the pace of 400s in a workout, so you might be able to go 2 seconds faster per 400 for a mile.
yo f'off with the hate on Illinois.

I ran a 4:28 today. ALTHOUGH -- since it was somewhat hot, I got jostled twice, and I spent a couple laps in lane 2, I think I'm probably capable of a 4:25 in a perfect race.
Whoever guessed a 4:28 though, enjoy your bagel.
