Is anyone 41 to 46 years old up for hard mode?
Your mission, should you choose to accept it: between now and 5 years from now, set a 46-year-olds' record that Bernard Lagat will not obliterate in 2021.
I wish you the best of luck.

And if I am not mistaken Lagat was one of four under the old meet record by an American (since it used to, oddly, be open to those not American). He doesn't have it anymore, only able to break the meet record when others do?? :-)
Ed Whitlock is looking like a lock for the 85-year-old record next week.
Is he entered in the 3000m at the Canadian Master Champs?
Figured out who this idiot was. A racewalker of all things. Make sense why he would be knocking somebody who can actually run. I'd feel the need to knock down real athletes if I was a racewalker too. Didn't get his first name, last name was "risch."
Why the hell is Lagat retiring if he can still run under a 7:40 with poor tactics

They are testing for Meldonium.

Yes, him.
If he reads this:
Please don't talk so negatively about people loudly on your cell phone at a track event. Maybe you don't realize this because you're a racewalker, but the traxk community is small.
Also don't be an @$$ and push past a woman in a stroller and everybody else in line trying to get onto the same elevator to the same parking garage as you. If you thought you were more important because you were in the meet, you weren't the only one on the elevator in the meet, and we let the woman with the baby on first because she was at the front of the line already, you bypassed an entire line of people who were waiting behind us, easily 5 elevator loads of people.
Racewalking is already thought of poorly by most of us in track, you don't help your situation.
Signed, somebody in a more mainstream event.

Then he just showed he can run under 7:40 without meldonium.
A lot of people who can't are now gonna be finishing behind him. Just because he isn't gonna be running 7:28 or 3:26 anymore is no reason to quit.
If you can run fast, you should. No excuses.
I've heard from someone connected to their training group that Lagat missed a months training from mid Jan......did just rehab and pool work then had just 3 weeks running before Nationals. Its incredible enough the guy is 41 but to come in without much work and no races and run 7:41 is unbelievable.

Does he also walk on water in his spare time?

It seems that the 46 y.o. record is completely open right now. If someone is 46 on this board and can find an indoor race to run the 3000m, the indoor 3000m world record is up for grabs. After that, it seems that you have to wait to be 85 y.o.
Age 46
8:47.2 Herbert Cordwener 9/30/86-outdoors
8:59.57 Tony Rodiez, indoor ? 3/28/03
Age 48
8:56.8i 1/19/91 Bill Stewart

Agreed, that guys is a joke...
We should all be able to agree that race walking is a ridiculous activity and that if anything should be scratched from the Olympics it should be race walking.
He was kind enough to do some actual running races, so we can see what caliber of athlete it takes to have a shot at the Olympics in racewalking.
Apparently an adult who can only run the mile as fast as a decent high school freshman is good enough to try for the olympics in am endurance event on the track, as long as he is a race walker. 4:41 in the mile, really?

And you think he is only taking Meldonium? Wait until you are over 40 and you will see what it takes to run such times. This guy is extremely dirty like so many Kenyans that were already busted. He is lucky he lives in the USA because the doping system is way more sophisticated than in Africa. Someday the truth will come out.
Does anyone know how old Jill Greathouse is?, there's gotta be a few age records she can go for if she's good enough for the 10Mile AR.
Why not start a new 'Walker Cody Risch is a douche!' thread.
The LRC needs a new 1000+ posts/mega read head kicking thread now Mike Rossi and Jill Greathouse have gone to ground. So who better than a cringe worthy up-himself race walker. Bring it on.
