As I recall he was only a few tenths off it before. With Hernandez and a lot of heat on his tail, he could scare sub-1:45. And Isiah will be right there!
Hasn't run any faster since his 1:45 earlier in the year. Still, I won't be shocked if he does break it.
I will be incredibly shocked if he runs 1:44.8 indoors. I'm going to say it won't happen.
Is there a semifinal that needs to be navigated first?
No record.
OK its the ACR which is 1:45.8. That is doable even with prelims. 1:44.8 I agree would be monumental with prelims, not likely to happen.

The american collegiate indoor 800m record? Who keeps records of that? Are there records for the other nationalities competing in the NCAA?
Forgive me for a stupid question - ncaas and world trial on the same weekend, does that mean even if Brazier runs quicker than anyone in the trials final will he be considered or has he ruled it out?

Something similar happened to Eaton once if I'm remembering correctly. Set the indoor world record at NCAA, same weekend as world champs.

Definitely not new to the sport. But being British I am new to your strange American customs. As far as I am aware, the collegiate record performance indoors seems to be:
1:44.84 Paul Ereng (Virginia) Budapest, Hungary 3/04/89

Unless the OP means the championship record? 1:45.33 Jean-Patrick Nduwimana, Arizona. I don't see Brazier doing that, Nduwimana ran 1:42 that season.
I meant American Collegiate Record. Yes, we keep track of crazy stuff like that.
Some even pay attention to American High School records, if you can believe that. Some kid named Alfred Web or something like that actually made news once for that.
The article said collegiate record, so that would be Paul Ereng's 1:44.
I agree, that is a sweet facility.
1. 1:44.35. Age 18 world record. Borzakovskiy
2. Kaki 1:44.81

I am comfortable in saying NO WAY, in fact, I don't think he will get the meet record. Being that he ran slower in his second race, I would be surprised if he ever PRs. That race earlier this year was a perfect setup to run fast, there are far more variables in an ncaa indoor championship race that would cause him to run slower than there are to allow for a PR. From memory, the 2012 or 2013 ncca champ had about half a dozen guys coming in with 1:46x PRs, and no one PRed at that meet. Also, when Paul Ereng ran 1:44x, he was probably close to his mid-20s and was one of the top-3 800m runners in the world.

PC or completely, totally correct? The collegiate record is 1:44.84. The championship record is 1:45.33.
There is no American Collegiate record. You can call it a 'best', if you like.

As you can see, when the record is not held by an American-born collegian, the American Collegiate Record is listed underneath.
And now you know!
in Britain they actually have the option to select the best athletes even if they don't compete in the trials. No such luck here.
other than heats, there's no significant variable in an 800m for a guy likely to just get into the front from the gun and hold his position all the way to the end. I predict he'll get it. I wouldn't make such a prediction in longer championship races.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
