Why do these schools run their conference champs a week before NCAAs, a week past the qualifying window and with less of a recovery window than the rest of the D1 schools? Noticed no Justyn Knight.
-
It's not a conference chanpionship. Syracuse is in the ACC and Yale is in the Ivy League. Both meets were last weekend.

The IC4a is basically nowadays the Eastern or Northeast champs. It's older than the NCAA and used to be the national meet. For the most part, nowadays, the people who go to it are those who aren't goin to NCAAs. -
Congrats with Randon. He flirted with sub-4 earlier this year, so I'm glad he got it before the season is over. Too bad he couldn't have made it sooner or else he could have made the NCAA cut.
It also looks like it was the first time the IC4A was won with a sub-4 time since it was a meet record time and the previous meet record was 4:00.06 from 1988. -
3:58.85, winning by over 4 and a half seconds, and it was almost a two second pr. Congratulations!
-
Looking for a good video of it but being in the stands, it was incredible to see Randon run the last 1000m on his own. Great run to see and to have the whole crowd get behind him!
-
Anyone know why Ben Groleau of UMass didn't run the final? He was the top seed after running a 4:02 in the prelim the day before.
-
Just was trying to go sub 4 didn't happen and decided he didn't wanna run the final
-
Sweet! Congrats to James.
First sub 4 for Yale.
Looks like his teammate rabbited him which is cool.
Yale makes the NCAA tournament in basketball for the first time in my life on Saturday and now a sub 4. -
Indoor sub 4 doesn't count.
A win is a win though, so congrats to James for winning whatever meet this was. -
Ohhh...IT COUNTS! He did it and it's now history. Good for him.
-
If a top athlete can't recover from a mile in one week...oh wait they can, because they are top athletes.
-
Number 36 this year...

No idea, but looking at the overall results, it seems to have been the case with many other individuals and relay squads as well (Myles Marshall of Harvard in the 500m after running 1:01.63 in prelims; Yale's 4x400 after running 3:10.96 in prelims, just to name a few) -
marshall was disqualified from the final because he was also entered in the 800m and did not run in the prelim for that event. The IC4A is a no scratch meet so when he did not run the 800m he was disqualified from the rest of the meet.

That would be a bit idiotic on the coaches part to sign him up for the 500m and 800m without knowing that it was a "no scratch meet". -

Especially since the 500 and 800 are back to back events... -
This guy probably ran 4:05 indoors...
