Apparently Ryan must still be training because he is going to be pacing the half marathon and the 5k at the Rock and Roll Dallas event. http://sportsday.dallasnews.com/other-sports/running/2016/02/18/ryan-hall-return-dallas-pace-runners-rock-n-roll-dallas-half-5k
He will be pacing the non elite runners, but I can't wait to see him back in action. Is he going to become a professional pacer someday? (If there is such a thing.)
Ryan Hall hasn't completely given up running

"This year, he coached his wife, Sara, through her preparations for last Saturday's U.S. Olympic Trials Marathon in Los Angeles. In the extremely warm conditions, Sara completed 17 miles in 1:39:25 before dropping out."

First time I have heard of pace groups for a 5K.
-
Dude, he's pacing hobbyjoggers probably at 8:00 pace. Not exactly "back in action."

I don't think Ryan knows how to finish a marathon anymore. Nor does he know how to coach someone to finish one either. -
RNR has been having elites (Deena, Meb,etc.) "pace" non-elites for years.

I think is nice. Gives the average person a chance to run with a professional while not competing against said professional. Given the chance (and time/space being a non-factor) how many of us here would have run with Pre or any of the guys from the 70s (or any era for that matter) when they were in their prime or just past it*?
*excluding Jeff Galloway
(aw hell, he can be there too, I'm in a good mood tonight). -
How often do pacers DNF?
-
If I could run with anyone, I'd like to run with Kenenisa Bekele. I hope he wants to pace a half some day.

Sorta makes you feel like a little kid again, going out for a run with your dad, I'd imagine. -
This is good. For all the posts about elites not doing enough to promote the sport, here you go. I have seen Ryan work the crowds at marathon expos. He is as good an ambassador for the sport as you will be able to find.

Guys he has said in multiple interviews that he is still running regularly but only for like 30 min. Also he is only pacing the 5k
-
Probably fairly often in marathons.

This is a paying gig, right?

guessing it's a contract from before the retirement that he must fulfill -
I hope he gets on testosterone and starts training for real again, with no intention of competing, but rather to show how powerful PEDs can be.

Wouldn't be surprised if he was on T all along, until recent times.
