Solinsky's American record and 1999 MIAA indoor 2 mile race of the century. Youtube it.
Is it bad that the Steve Jones video brought tears to my eyes.
Also just spent the last hour listening to the Rocky soundtrack in my office.
Mottram's 2 mile at Pre is one of my favourites, he f*cking smashes it
For inspiration before a race I like to fire up the Sydney games 10,000m final and watch Tergat and Geb battle. There's one video that has the last bit in slo-mo set to some classical music. Tears I tell ya!
PS - Both Meb and Abdi were in that race, both still running.
Two events I was privileged to see live that should be viewed on Video.
The '76 OG 5,000 Men's final and Decker's WC '83 double.
2003 WC 10000m

4:00 last mile with a fist-pump finish. Teg also at the top of his game.

Track Coach & I must be the same age. I remember all of your mentions as if they were yesterday. How about the 85 World Cup 4 x 400 to win the team title for America after Armstead was knocked to his face on the inside. He gathered himself and passed the baton to Franks who crept up on the field and dipped for the win. Team still ran 3:00+. The whole story behind Cathy Freeman leading up to the lighting of the torch and having to wait over a week to follow with the 400 title in front of her whole country. To lose would have been easy. Winning was definitely the expectation. Perec knew she would have been busted.
When the Big 10 girl falls down in the 600m...
Look at Mills!!!!!!!! Look at Mills!!!!!! Wohoooooooooo!!!!!!!!
Watched so many times, still think she has no chance:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=70UF82nysIUNote that Molly Beckwith/Ludlow is 3rd, so no slouch field!

Rod Dixon / Geoff Smith 1983 NYCM ... back when it was broadcast live.
Also
5000m final Barcelona.
Ngugi breaks open the race early with a ~2:32 kilometer. Domingos Castro chased after Ngugi, appears to have the silver wrapped up, then gets robbed just before the line.
The race everybody forgot about
Fawn = American to Canadian and back to living in the States now LOL nice hurdle Fawn

Track Coach you listed some good ones
The Colombia and Olivia Baker 2014 4x4 was one of the better races I have ever seen.
I enjoy the 1991 Tokyo WC LJ competition
https://youtu.be/ybEs3j_MmrA2007 Penn HS Boys 4x4 -
https://youtu.be/TzwPLQt6urESt. Jago and Long Beach Poly - The whole weekend everyone knew this was going to be special. The race lived up to the hype.
Secretariat 1973 Preakness - first turn was damn impressive -
https://youtu.be/kNChcy3WC2Q2003 World Championship Steeple -
2008 Beijing Mens Marathon
I agree, the '91 WC long Jump competition, but that is what made the '92 Olympics long jump so special knowing Lewis want revenge on Powell and the fact that the Olympics is the ultimate stage
Yes, the 2007 HS boys 4x4 was special with Nellums on anchor for LBP.
The 2008 Beijing Mens Marathon for me is the greatest marathon performance.
1981 NYC Marathon.

Yeah, that was epic.
(1:42:00 in)
And this one. No sound, though:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kaGDIKoh-g8Ryun's teammate, Mike Petterson (sp?), came up on Jim just before the half, when JR was backing off just a tad, and probably saved the sub-4:00.
Then Petterson ran the last lap in 70+ and is practically walking on the homestraight. Imagine taking second in State with a 70+ last quarter!
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
