I am gratified to see such strong evidence that there truly is a "running community", and that it's one we can be proud to be part of.

Separately...I sure hope "Anonymous" is just an alternate spelling of "Max" and/or "Stephanie".
The amount does not count as much as the effort - "We Are...USA Track & Field".
Where is Nike in all this? Can Letsrun reach out to them please.
Nike isn't going to do squat, that rationale being if they help this kid, they have to help everyone's kid. Nike is like hospitals; Many years ago they (and the people that ran them) truly cared. These days it's all about the almighty dollar, and nothing else. Nike has a contingent of lawyers to tell them a list of reasons to NOT help. Sad, but that's the reality these days. The running community is indeed a family, a family of which the shoe companies are no longer part.
definitely making some assumptions from these donations about what runners must come from wealthy families
Joe, how dare you slander my, err, "good" name by associating it with those two clowns! ;)

Right. No doctors. No clinics. No hospitals. There is no healthcare in the US.

I can tell you, as someone who lives in the community near Nike (but has never worked for them) and I have seen hundreds of their employees volunteering in elementary schools, middle schools, high schools, Oregon food bank, Oregon children's Cancer Association And many more. Maybe the corporation can't do what you're asking but I have seen who work for them people do it. Nike has matching funds for employees who donate to non profit causes encouraged to volunteer in their communities. Phil and Penny Knight donated $500 million to the cancer center at OHSU in Portland, nothing to shake a stick at.
Meant this......Maybe the corporation can't do what you're asking but I have seen their people do it.....
The cost is going to be unbelievable.
my wife died from Glioblastoma and hung on for 4 years and 5 months..
I thought I was going to go broke, but there are programs built in to help victims of this to not go bankrupt OR go on medicaid...
If I recall, she was immediately qualified for SS disability (its been a few years) immediately AND GBM (and I would assume Neuroblastoma) is on a list of catastrophic illnesses which qualifies (a poor positive use of the word) a victim for medicare after two years of treatment.
Im so sorry for Luke and his wife....
I loaded my wife on a plane from Indiana to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston every 6 weeks for the first 3 years..
Sloan-Kettering is wonderful with children suffering from Neuroblastoma....
Im so sorry.
