Mary Cain - $100
Stephen Pifer - $100
Phoebe Wright & fam - $20
I gave $75 (and yes, I'm a nobody). I mention it perhaps to encourage others posting here to do as well. Luke is one of the good guys and a part of this curious community.
terrible news. I hope that the family has health insurance because this can run into the hundreds of thousands of dollars very easily. Even with it, it is expensive.
Even if they have insurance and treatment is covered, the little things add up. Your exoerance may have been different; my mom went through chemo and surgery and we spent thousands of dollars on non-medical-treatment stuff - taxi for her to get to/from treatment if we couldn't drive her, parking fees if we drove, getting takeaway because all she could keep down and didn't taste like metal for a week after intense chemo sessions was potato soup from panera or whole foods, other convenience meals bc we had no time to cook or were stuck at the hospital, new clothes & sheets bc chemo made her skin hypersensitive and all she could tolerate was cotton, air filter unit to keep the air in her bedroom cleaner, etc.
Salazar's donated $300
hopefully uncle phil steps up
Yes, but athletes are independent contractors.

I recall reading they have to BUY their own insurance. The whole NOP runners.
Kyle Merber $100
Deena Kastor $100
Trevor Dunbar $100
Johnny Gregorick $50
Grabill Family $100
Carrie Tollefson $50
Kevin Hadsell (x-coach now actor) $100
Sean Quigley $50
A lot of our community rallying. Great to see
He likely has 60/40, 70/30 coverage with a deductible of $3000-$5000. With a Cancer of this type and the aggressive treatment, he will need every $$$ they are asking for.
Something I was just wondering - do you think he ran the Trials (and placed FOURTH!) already knowing what his daughter was dealing with?!? That would have been a VERY heavy burden his mind, going into one of the most important races of his career.
If this is true, that makes his 4th place finish all the more impressive.
I'm so glad to see folks stepping up to help him and his family out.
Don´t you have free healthcare in the world´s greatest country?
of that I am quite certain. I was thinking the same thing earlier, just so distinct, the difference in the attitudes of the respective 4th placers. he's certainly got his head on straight, humble, classy, and just happy to have another day on this earth. I hope he has a whole heck of a lot more days and years and decades with his daughter (& wife). kudos to you Luke, and healing hands for your little girl

This is horrible news. Childhood cancer kills more kids than all other diseases combined. Luckily she is under the age of 1 - neuroblastoma is far more treatable for infants than toddlers. However, the expenses add up quickly n things insurance doesn't cover like gas, food, clothes, etc. Not to count how many times she will end up in the hospital with an infection due to treatment.
Very very sad. Donated, a pittance, but donated
Note - it's easy to accidentally put down 'monthly' donation unintentionally, so unless you desire to donate on a regular basis, do be sure to uncheck that.
Best of luck to Luke & Co
I'm a nobody and I made a donation. Anyone can spare 10 or 20 or 25 bucks (I donated 25). I can't imagine having a baby diagnosed with cancer. I recognize how blessed my family has been in the health department. Sending positive vibes to the Pudeskra family!! Cas Loxsom donated $1000. I'm impressed.

I hate that GoFundMe shows how much everyone donates.
