You all have been very helpful! Last question from me ... New road bikes are categorized as Endurance geometry or Performance fit/geometry. I understand the general concept that endurance is more comfortable in terms of handling and vibrations as well as siting up in a more relaxed position.
I'm leaning toward one of the endurance models because I don't see myself racing anytime soon. What (if anything) will I miss out on if I don't go with a performance fit/geometry?
I started out on a Cervelo and got swept up in my love for Tuscan wine and Lidia Bastianich's cooking so I bought a Pinarello Prince. That aggressive race geometry is something that still gives me night terrors.
After that I went Specialized, the salesperson broke down why he thought I should be on a Tarmac compared to a Roubaix. It was exactly what I needed to hear. I am a runner. Yes I am fit, not flexible worth a damn though. The goal of my riding is to be able to get off the bike after a 100k and still want to get back on the next day. My body melts into the Roubaix. Of course, fit is individual but I like to attribute the good fit of my current ride to that difference in geometry.
Dont get into a situation where you buy a bike that is a size too big and put on a shorter stem.. 100mm Stem +
